The dinner plate was overturned and crashed onto the floor with a piercing noise. Patrick’s hands trembled uncontrollably, his phone nearly slipping from his grasp. He roared in fury, "What the hell are you talking about? What rental apartment? Are you messing with me? Do you have a death wish?"

Every proposal she brushed off. Each one stabbed a little deeper. She finally got it—how rare his love was. And she'd wrecked it herself. Now he was gone for real, and she couldn't reach him. Regret hit hard. She wanted to fix it, but it was too late. She texted him again and again. Nothing. No reply. No sign. Just silence. That's when it sank in. Hedley was done. He didn't love her anymore.

Reen said while opening the door, i was the only one who was left in the car and i had no reason of going out. I was busy looking at Dad talking and laughing with the filling station's workers i didn't know if they knew each other or he was just trying to act friendly . Something disturbed me , a text message, i received a text message from an unknown number. All through Saturday and into Sunday, I called the number, but he didn't pick up. I sent text messages, telling him it was me, but he never replied back. Not once. By Sunday, I'd begun to feel worried if the maid had given me the wrong number. But then, I doubted she would play tricks with me, because she could have simply insisted on her 'No'. This now left me with one explanation: I had been GHOSTED. The realization left me mystified. What went wrong? I thought there was an attraction we'd been hitting it off.

*Subject: WHERE ARE YOU? *Leigh, I've been trying to reach you for a week. Your phone goes straight to voicemail. Are you okay? I'm worried. Email me back IMMEDIATELY.* Guilt crashed over her. She'd been so focused on blocking Noah that she'd ghosted her best friend. She typed back quickly. *I'm so sorry. Lost my phone. Got a new one. New number. Everything's been crazy with work. I wanted to be as perfect as I could be for Greg. When I got out of the tub, I checked my phone to see if I had gotten a text. I was disappointed to see Greg hadn't texted me back. Panic set in again, so I texted him. "Hey, just checking. Do you still want me to pick you up?" It was close to midnight, and my stomach was starting to sink. I felt like I was getting ghosted. I don't remember ever being as disappointed as I stared at my phone, waiting to hear back from him.
