For a second, Kale went completely still, his body stiff like he couldn’t process what was happening. Then his hands found my waist. And he kissed me back.

my assistant, a young woman with a sharp wit and an even sharper eye for detail, announced, "Mr. Kalel is here." My eyebrows shot up. At that moment, I had already gotten the answer to my question. Who else would be richer than me? It was no other than the trillionaire, Kalel Agravante, who has the power to turn anything he touches to gold. "Show him in," I instructed, my voice betraying no hint of surprise or anticipation. Kalel entered my office with a confident aura. He was tall, with piercing blue eyes and a jawline that could cut diamonds. He was wearing another luxury suit that made him look expensive.

I could picture his technique in my head… the Flame Kindler. The flame kindled was an elemental sword technique that made your opponents hands burn with each movement of the sword. The heat was enough to burn an Omega in a minute, but for a Gamma, it would take days to fully take effect. I tilted my head back to the battlefield, and to my amazement, Kyle was holding Ryu off despite the burn. He kept single strokes, moving his body around like he was following the motion of the wind. “If it means killing you to take that imposter you call your personal maiden, then I will.” Kyle grunted as Ryu pushed him back with his sword.

Kalel slammed right into a pillar before he fell to the ground. He seemed wretched, with his face completely red. Blood spurted out of his mouth immediately after. He sustained internal injuries with just a single kick! Miles Keaton and Kora gasped in fear after seeing the sight. They knew Harvey was the representative of the country’s Martial Arts Alliance. They also heard he single-handedly took out all of India’s top talents. That said, they all believed that it was all just a big exaggeration. But after seeing Kalel, who had trained for decades, could not even defend himself against a single kick.

I shook my head to dispel these unwanted thoughts and decided to humor him. "So, Kale eh? No problem. Watch." I said as I pulled at my core, bringing forth my true looks to the surface. I could feel the change, the muscles straining against the black shirt I wore. I knew I was ripped, since I mostly trained as Kale. Kale, The Fierce. It was like a boost, a power up of some sorts. "Oh wow. This is.. This is just wow. I thought maybe I must have.. I don't know, imagined this symbol of male perfection." He held a hand on his mouth to keep him from spilling further, and acting like a lovesick puppy. I just smiled.

I've seen Kale and Scott in a fight, and they both got down on each other real good. "Thanks for standing up for me" I tell Kale. "It's no problem. Scott would've probably had him six feet under by now" Kale said with a chuckle and I smile. "What're you getting?" I ask him, referring to the tattoo. "A skull" Kale grinned and I chuckled. "That's creepy" "There's no non-creepy tattoo to ever exist" Kale justifies himself. "A rose tattoo isn't creepy" "Yeah... untill you see blood dripping from it" he says and I cringe. Scott's Rose has thorns on it, and beside it, a heart. I guess all Tatts are creepy.

The pups continued playing and I slowed my steps, so as not to intrude. Suddenly, Kaina stumbled as she ran and the ground beneath her shifted. The grass lifted then curled upward like a living thing, forming a soft mound that caught her before she could fall. Kaina blinked, giggled, and clapped her hands. The earth gently settled back into place, making me freeze. Before I could even react, Kalel let out an excited squeal and his eyes flashed silver. The air around him shimmered, while a pulse rippled outward, knocking over a small wooden toy several feet away.

“Did you finish your history outline?” Caelan’s eyes cut toward mine—sharp, tired, too old for his face. “Half. Then Haku attacked me with a dinosaur.” Haku lifts his chin proudly. “It was a T-Rex.” “It was a plastic lizard,” Caelan mutters. “It was a T-Rex,” Haku repeats, like that settles it. I scoop cereal into one bowl—one—and add fruit because I’m a responsible adult who sometimes remembers vitamins. The kitchen smells like toasted rice and coffee, and for one tiny moment, it almost feels like we’re normal.
