A whiff of perfume filled my nostrils first, and then a head of blonde hair whipped into the room, eyes wild and red lipstick formed into a grimace. Zelda. “Run!” she shouted, rushing toward Isaac. Isaac whipped around, startled by his cousin’s entrance. “Zelda? What the hell—” He didn’t get a chance to finish before she lunged at him, shoving him back against the wall. “I said, run!” Her eyes met mine for a heart-stopping instant, and I froze. She knew. It was her who sent the raven. How long had she known I was alive? Isaac recovered quickly, pushing back against Zelda. Zane jumped into the fray, trying to hold Isaac back while Zelda fought to keep him pinned against the wall.
