He looked up from his hand and took in the scene of the Grove. "What is this place?" he asked, fixating on the altar. I debated for a moment, trying to think of how much I should tell him. I thought of Avery. It was her family's relic. What would she say? "Each family has an object or a place that's sacred. It's something that connects us with our power, our ancestors. All the Necromancers that came before us. This is the Manser's Grove." John lowered his hand still in awe. "I can feel the power here." He closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. "It's ancient, pure." He frowned, and looked up at me. "I've felt this before, around our own sacred items."

Her face became paler with each page. "It's..." "What?" "A spellbook." I frowned. "So?" She looked up at me. "This isn't just any spellbook, It's a grimoire. The Dark Grimoire of the First Veilborn Queen." I stared at her. "The one who sealed the Demon King?" Hansel nodded. "I think so." She flipped through more pages. "There are sealing spells, Curses, Blood rituals..." She suddenly stopped. "And?" Her voice dropped. "A ritual to completely destroy the King's soul."

His expression was unreadable, but through the bond, Selene could feel him shock, denial, and underneath it all, a desperate, fragile hope. “This doesn’t change anything,” he said finally. “Even if you’re right, the pregnancy still-” “I’m not done.” Selene grabbed another text, this one older, written in a language she couldn’t read. “This is a grimoire. Morwenna pulled it for me. It’s about blood magic and curse theory. I can’t read most of it, but there’s a passage here…” She pointed to a section that had been translated in someone’s cramped handwriting. “…about curses that bind souls. "In a few days, when the weird end of days rolls in, we'll make him pay." Jim gave a small nod, his skin cooling down, no longer fired by my blood. Right then, I noticed something odd, the weak Haunts that had barely any strength were suddenly frantically feasting on my leftover blood. Their once translucent bodies filled with vigor as they started to circle and swoop around me. "I've got a plan!"

You used part of your own magic to enclose the creatures that could be invoked with the book. There is power inside those pages. A drop of its power, and it is already strong enough that only a human sacrifice allows the book to be read. Can you imagine everything that was left inside you compared to this drop?

A male voice, that I didn’t know, asked. Looking up, I saw a male player, standing a few feet away. His character was a vampire, but he was wearing the armor of a Hunter. Hunters in this game were players that found pleasure in attacking other players for their gold pieces and items. Granted, only common items could be looted.

My name is Elora and I reside at the Blue Mountain Packhouse. I have a slim figure, long curly blonde hair which I usually wear up in a bun so it is out of my face. My eyes are a deep blue which I love. I am not a normal girl though. You see I am a shewolf, my rank at the packhouse is an omega. She ran her fingers along the spines, the gold lettering cool against her skin. Drawn in by the sheer volume, she hesitantly pulled a book from the shelf, a slim volume bound in dark blue leather. The title was etched in silver: The Royal Grimoire of Sacred Oaths. She opened it, her eyes skimming the ornate calligraphy, the intricate diagrams filled with arcane symbols.
