The door thumped against her back. Everleigh squeaked in alarm. Rufus slipped his palm over her mouth and leaned hard into the door. She looked at him, her eyes wide. He shook his head. “I say, the door won’t open,” came a slurred male voice from outside. A feminine giggle was the reply. The door thumped again, which had the effect of driving Everleigh’s hips hard against Rufus. “We could use the laundry area,” a familiar feminine voice said. Everleigh gasped when she realized who it was.

Sliding the curtains aside, she couldn’t see anything due to the angle. Frustrated, she stormed outside to find both her mother and Mrs. Hail chatting. “You know, it would have been great if one of you answered the door,” she snapped at the two women, who were laughing at some silly joke. “Oh… is someone at the door?” Mrs. Hail asked, feigning ignorance. “Yeah, can’t you hear it ringing like crazy?” Grace asked, clearly irritated. “Oh… well, we didn’t hear anything,” Mrs. Hail paused, then added, “Why do you look like that?”

he grunted. Down a hallway that led away from what seemed to be a massive lounge, Hayden pointed and directed her toward a door with a sensor on it. He placed his thumbprint on it and it popped open. Georgia realized it was a facade with a different door made of thick metal behind it. This door’s dark color and strongroom-style design clashed horribly with the rest of the home’s beautiful look. The facade door didn’t and kept it hidden when closed. Hayden again scanned his print to unlock the second door and it swung open with a loud, metallic ‘clang’. Both doors closed behind them and Georgia heard loud clicks as they locked again.

I specified bothered so much. We are startled when we heard like banging or we are just sensitive right now and exaggerating what we are hearing. We run upstairs to check on them. Homer already hold the doorknob when we heard Gertrude giggle. "I'm sorry honey!" It was Jonathan's voice. We are curious about what are they talking about. Why is he sorry and what's with the chasing and the giggles? We couldn't stop smiling holding our laughter as well when we heard them patching. Our wives come over as well looking at us confused with our suppressed laughter. We winked at them walking away from the door before we could hear what we shouldn't hear.

I feel sorry for whoever is in that room having to deal with those ear-shattering cries. The door violently opens as a furious set of stomping heels storms into the corridor, leaving the door slam shut in their sharp exit. A frustrated scream erupts, its creator stomping their feet like a child throwing a tantrum due to not getting what they yearn. It falls eerily silent before the slow clicking of heels makes its way to the cracked door, pushing their way inside without invitation. Is she serious?

At the center of the brass-bound cavern stood a colossal, circular vault door, sealed with three massive, interlocking gears of solid gold. As we approached, a deep, grinding click echoed through the floorboards. The giant gears began to slowly rotate, their heavy brass teeth scraping together with a deafening, metallic shriek that sent a shower of bright spark-embers across the stone.

Ash hums, “I could carry you.” She laughs and shakes her head, continuing down the stairs. It’s maybe two stories underground when they reach the main door. It’s a thick steel door, with a small covered window slot that opens from the inside. It slides open as she reaches it, and there’s a squeak and a small crashing sound as it closes quickly.

The door handle rattles once, polite. Then it tries to smile.
