I’ll tell my friends you’re coming and I’ll send the address to your parents . Raven makes some calls and packs all she needs. You’d expect that Raven’s birthday would be an in door one but rather, Raven decided to throw this party in the woods with fire and friends and food.

It was a habit that I had developed as a doctor. “Oh, go ahead. Take a guess,” she said, playing a game, taking a step closer to me. “Go ahead. You won’t offend me.” I shrugged again. “I don’t know, maybe twenty-eight or twenty-nine tops? But no older than thirty.” “Huh, I’m slipping,” Raven said without anger, stepping away. Then, she turned to face me. “I just celebrated my two hundredth and twentieth birthday last week.”

Till then he would just hope for her. Raven drove home but after seeing Frank's longing for Stanley, she was curious if Ralph ever missed her even once. She hadn't seen him in any magazine or in the news. It seemed that he had completely disappeared out of her life. She sighed and reached home to see a grinning Stanley and her mom decorating a cake. "Where did this cake come from?" Asked Raven, surprised. "I brought it, Ravs. Guess what? It's my birthday today," announced an excited Stanley.

What has changed? "I know it's been forever." Raven sighed dramatically, bypassed me and dropped into the seat next to Mom. It was weird to see them both together. Raven looked the same as usual, though. Her arms were decorated with sparkly bangles and bulky rings lay on her fingers. She pushed her black hair over her shoulder and it cascaded softly down her back. "So, where are you both off tonight, then?" Mom asked excitedly, sounding like a teenage girl. "There's a New Year's Eve party at Ross's house," Raven began. "I know it's going to be good because my horoscope says I should focus on myself more for this month so that means I'm getting blackout tonight."

Getting to Ava's I knock and wait, the door opens, and she stands looking at me confused. "Look, I am not sure what happened last night. Could you please consider giving her another chance? I don't know what you argued over." She looks at me. "Your choice, Ava, entirely your choice, don't feel you have to agree because of who we are." "Emmett, I don't know." "Look, yesterday won't have been easy for Raven, it was her birthday, she told no one. Not even her own father remembered. We're having a small party at her work this afternoon, consider coming, or come to ours beforehand."

I couldn’t help but laugh softly, “You have memorised her movements?” “She is my daughter. Of course, I would learn everything about her,” Raven said firmly. I nodded, “Of course. You would learn it all.” Days passed in a blur. She turned two. Raven was happier than I was. He insisted on celebrating her two-month birthday. So, he threw a party, inviting his men only. He wanted to invite his close friends as well. I wanted my friends to be here. But I came to know that Axel was having a war with Parker’s. Rowan was outside the country at the moment.

“Always working even when a big day is approaching.” I frowned. “What are we celebrating now?” She gave me a look. “It’s your birthday, Raven.” I let out a frustrated sigh. “Seriously?” I frowned. She raised a brow. I sighed and sat on the edge of the bed. “Mother, it’s not a big deal. I don’t want to celebrate. There are more important things to do.” She dropped the fruit bowl and stood up. “C'mon Raven, I know you don't like celebrating your birthday but you promised that if we skipped last year, you would have a grand one this year.”
