He held it, almost protectively, until the others had stepped back, and then he offered it to Henry directly.
“Here, this is for you Henry.” The Principal said.
Henry took it, curiosity prickling at him. The paper was smooth, the ribbon tied in a precise bow. He could almost see Adrian’s hands folding each corner, as if the act itself was an offering.
He opened it, lifting the lid of the wooden box inside.
And his breath caught.
Nestled within was a leather-bound journal, so full of pages, its cover engraved with Henry’s initials in script. Alongside it lay a pen, its barrel etched with a wolf motifs.
