Frowning she opened the encyclopedia and breathed a sigh of relief, all English. She flipped through the pages. The creatures listed didn't appear to be in any sort of order. She landed on the witches first. Apparently they really did fly on broomsticks, but mostly for kicks. She raised a brow. "Imagine that."

“Well, I wouldn’t say that I don’t know anything, but I’m still learning.” He reached up and flicked his ear with a smile. “Goblins don’t have pointed ears, we’re also normal-sized, just like you. House elves don’t even exist, so I’m guessing you’re thinking about those little critters from the wizard movies, what are they called?” “Harry Potter, and they were books first. Really good books, by the way, if you’re a reader.” I could feel my face burning with embarrassment. “Muffler breath? Read? Ha! That’s a good one!” Jade said as she set a drink down in front of him.

"What was that?" "I think vault answered me. Look!" Aurora pointed. A book had appeared on the podium. Afraid to remove the book from its spot, the Empress pulled back the cover. Inside were pictures of all sorts of creatures, most looking more or less human. The writing, however was in the strange runes of circles and squares. Aurora laughed. "Could I possibly get a book on magical creatures in a language I can understand?" She asked. A bright flash of light caused both Devrim and Aurora to shut their eyes again, and a new book sat in place of the old. "Now it's just showing off," Devrim complained as he rubbed his eyes.

I dragged myself up and went to see what was going on reluctantly. “Come with me.” She said in an excited voice and led us to the back of the tree where a huge symbol was engraved. A four-petalled flower. Each of the red petals contained a symbol; a dragon, a werewolf, two witches. The only difference between this symbol and the symbol of code red was the Heart of magic in the center. Her eyes lit up as she said, “Isn’t this symbol self-explanatory.” Zarina, Aslan, and Caleb looked at her dumbfounded. To be honest even I didn’t know what we were supposed to do with this symbol.

Ximena places her stuff quickly in a neat pile and I place the box on the ground before unpacking it. The thick books are all looking really old, with leather bindings, golden lettering, and thick yellow paper. I read the covers; Magia elemental, La historia de la magia, Un testimonio de la cacería de la brujas en la Espana, Guía de brujas, Libro de encantamientos, Libro de los muertos, Leyedas mágicas and book with no letters on its covers, just an upside down tree. I dumped them all out onto the bed then plopped down in the middle with my legs crossed, I began my search through all 9 books, each with over a thousand pages, I then got tired of sitting on the bed and moved my work to the small table in the corner of the room. I scanned through more spells, potions, hexes and herbal remedies than I had ever seen before in my life, many that I had never even heard of. From witches brews, to how to cure a headache, love potions of all strengths and curses that ranged from something as minor as a boil or as extreme as death. As I’m flipping through the pages one curse jumped out at me. It’s the curse of the moon.

Asena mused, clearly amused by Adira's display of magic. "And scary," I replied; her magic felt more powerful than anything I had ever experienced. Or was it? "Perhaps it's time to reconsider what we thought we knew," Adira suggested, her eyes sparkling with curiosity and excitement. A strange sensation began to build in my shoulders, only to suddenly race down my spine like a shiver. I had seen stronger magic before, very different from what I was witnessing now. "This volume contains a record of all creatures created by the moon goddess," Adira said, capturing my attention. She slowly waved her hand over the book, and it opened. "Those that still walk the earth, and those that do not..."

Fox winks taking Colts hands and bringing them up to shoulder level before they close their eyes. I watch in awe as the twins radiate a white light that pushes out to the water, and the sludge of blackness turns into a sparkling blue. The animals that had been bobbing on the water were burned to ash where they sat. I wonder if Chloe's magic is similar to her brothers? I've never seen her use it before. But I can't wait to see it. Right now I can feel it coursing through my veins and it's a heady feeling. I love our magic mingling together.

I ask incredulously. “A grimoire or a spellbook is a textbook of magic, with instructions on how to create magical objects like talismans and amulets, how to perform magical spells, charms, and divination, and how to summon or invoke supernatural entities such as angels, spirits, deities, and demons” he explained to me carefully. “Spells huh” I said looking at the book “do you think she cast a spell on us yesterday?” “That would explain the fainting spells but why didn't they work on me?” He said looking to the side thinking.
