"Aunt Liz and I are having breakfast at a beautiful cafe. Mom, you know, the interior of the cafe is so unique. I have never been to such a place ever. One day you and I will come too." A shadow passed over my face; my expression slipped into something more somber. I tried to text him back, but could not find words to say. Because now whatever I typed would be lies. Suddenly, I felt like someone was standing behind me, and something cold touched the skin below my ears. "What the..." I looked behind touching the thing. But what I saw sent Goosebumps down my spine. It was a gun, and a man wearing a mask holding it against my head.

I said again in a whisper, almost crying while looking around for being nervous, scared, and paranoid. After a moment I heard a doorbell in Chase's house and she told me to wait. She put down the camera facing the door and she went to the door just to check who was doorbelling. A man wearing a mask exactly to what I dreamt. His face is covered with a black mask and only a red smile is painted on it. He punched Chase on her stomach. She fell to the floor and the man got inside their house and closed the door.

He spoke. According to the rate of his heartbeat, he was telling the truth. They thudded in a steady rhythm, he doesn't seem to be telling a lie. 'Yet.' Zane remarked, his voice echoing in my mind. 'Ask him about the red ghoul sketch.’ “What do you know about that mask?” I demanded. “The Red Ghoul? Man I don’t know anything about it, I swear.” Mason's eyes widened, a hint of panic lacing his words. Again, he was telling the truth.

The intense explosion instantaneously bounced the man who was touching my skin and sent him flying. I saw that the masked woman also seemed to be affected by the impact and fell to the ground. Her eyes under the mask looked at me in horror, almost could not find her voice, "You, you..." I didn't know I was glowing red at this point, even though my eyes were scarlet and demonic. She stared desperately at the back of her legs in horror, "Ghost, devil..." "My goodness, is the legend true?" A man in a black robe behind her ran over at the sound of the voice, and when he saw me he also turned pale with horror.

The man in the ghost mask was stunned for a moment. “What do you mean? Do you know who I am?” he asked in a spooky voice. His voice sounded as if it came from beneath manholes. And my soul? Yeah, it tried to run away. This… thing… was tall. Nightmare tall. Slim like a shadow, someone stretched too far. Moving like smoke pretending to be a person. A mask covered its face—smooth, blank, empty. No eyes. No nose. No mouth. Just darkness shaped into a face. Its steps made no sound. Its presence made the air colder than my ex’s heart. Goosebumps attacked my skin, but I tried to stand strong. “Don’t look at the mask,” Cullen’s mother whispered.

“That night five years ago, a car had mistakenly hit you and we took you to the hospital, don’t you remember?” “We?” Becca looked skeptical and Melisa rolled her eyes before throwing her hands helplessly in the air. “Have you been smoking again?” She inquired with raised brows. “I didn’t wake up on the right side of my bed, melisa. Everything has been so hazy and I can’t….” The words hung in her throat when a familiar someone walked up to them and her eyes almost fell out of their socket. Harden, her murderer of a husband.

We were close enough to see goosebumps. He hoisted her up and threw her petrified body on the table, which looked solid just like in the movies, but it creaked and buckled under the force when she came down. The sound of the slam echoed through the grounds. We held our breath. “Please stop,” she whimpered. “Please don’t,” we whispered. “Shhh,” he cooed. His clown face now stretched into a mask of loving concern “You don’t have anything to be afraid of.” A flash of light reflected off the long blade he now held above her. “Except me, of course.”

I scanned the perimeter and was glad we had the garden to ourself. Exhaling, I removed my clothes and closed my eyes, recalling my father's words two nights before my eighteenth birthday ball. I searched my subconscious and connected with Rehya, beckoning her to make her appearance. My bones began to shift and rearrange. The discomfort grew, turning into pain. I doubled over and groaned. “It won’t always be like this,” Rehya soothed. “This pain you’re experiencing, it's just because it’s our first time.”

Chapter three- His Mask Third-person POV She looks at the performer dumbfounded by the singer who has a hat on and a mask on his face, he smiles in her way and she can see it from the way his eyes were shining in her way. Seconds later, she holds her chest as she feels her heart beating faster and her chest tightening. So she walks towards the performers and stands at the tip of the platform, she doesn’t stop there but walks forward.
