When he opens his eyes, they are a lot clearer than they were before. “What's your name?” I query.

And then he saw the brilliant blue and the constricted, pinpoint pupils. She was clearly disoriented and then panic surged into her eyes.

It really hurts. Wait, I can move now. And there’s a sudden light striking through my eyes. I put my hands on my eyes and removed the sticky liquid on them. Slowly, I opened my eyes and was dumbfounded by what I have just witnessed. I squinted my eyes several times while my mouth was gaping because of bewilderment.

But wow, his lips are chapped af. I put him down after a couple of minutes of letting the soup go down. I put on Vaseline on his lips. He was afraid to but keeping his eyes shut was not a solution. He opened his first eye gently and saw nothing but grey until he summoned the courage to open his right eye. His favorite eye. His vision was blurry at first but after some time he could see.

'Please, open your eyes,' Suddenly, as if summoned by her thoughts, Frederick’s lashes trembled. Slowly, almost imperceptibly, his eyes fluttered open.
