Hilarious Books Novels & Stories

Those were hilarious. Were those? I quizzed. What the hell was the publisher thinking while coming up with the titles? Dorky and the hoes is still tolerable but once in my cunt? Seriously? That’s the best you can come up with? What’s the book about anyways? Vulva? Sad life changers? Wolves certainly are a rather horny civilization to put such literature on best-sellers. The excited-bee besides me isn’t done gushing over the supposedly brilliant works of the lecherously lewd author who isn’t me. I am pleased I am not. The titles want me to puke my gut out. Putatively, there are more to come.

"Mr Philip sent me to give this to you." "Thanks." I collected the book to inspect the front cover, while he showed off some dimples. The book had a raccoon as it's display photo. The raccoon looked thrilled to bits with both hands up and mouth open like it was shouting. The background was yellow, it had the words, 'furiosly happy' boldly written on it. Under the book title, there were word too that said, 'a funny book about terrible things' written in smaller font, while the author's name was Jenny Lawson.

The chill drenched into my bones, and I shivered. Zack stood at the entrance, his smile sardonic. He clapped his hands, and the maids got the message. They grabbed the snow off the ground and made snowballs. Then they hurled the snowballs at us. The snowballs exploded the moment they came in contact with our skin. I was busy reading some of the book titles: The Lord Of The Rings, The Hunger Games, The Harry Potter Series, The Lightening Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympian), The Last Mission.... Wow, he has good taste in books. I can't believe he actually read these. I began laughing to myself. "What's so funny?" Tyler asked. I turned to look at him, still laughing. "It's just so hard to imagine a boy like you reading. If I hadn't seen it myself, I wouldn't have believed it." I commented.

”It’s about you. “Me?” “Ja, you are a popular subject.” “That's too silly of a joke.” I look after her moment. Me, popular? “I don’t like liars, Hidi.” “You don't believe me?” Hidi gasps as if hurt. “No. You are trying to make fun of me- I won’t fall for it.” “You don't notice much, do you?” “I think I'm fairly observant.” “If it's a book, ja.” Hidi motions to the pile of books on my desk.

The ladies all giggle and Julie stands, handing a new bookmark to each of us. "Yes. We figured we'd get you ones that suited you a little better." she says. The new one is dark blue with gold lettering that says 'Real men read dirty books'. I smile and look over at Ev who's showing Harper his excitedly. "These are great. Thank you." I say just as Bri nudges me. "Oh! Tell them your joke, love!" Harper says excitedly. Ev rolls his eyes before addressing the group.

I teased, trying to keep things light. “Only the ones who don’t treat the library like a study hall for gossip.” I heard him shift, probably leaning on the opposite shelf. “You’re different, Lila. You actually read the books.” Heat rose to my face. Good thing he couldn’t see me blushing. “Thanks. Coming from you, that means something. You always seem so focused. Like nothing bothers you.” He was quiet for a moment. “Quiet doesn’t mean unbothered. Just good at hiding it.”

There could be a slip up, I might just mistakenly say something I'd rather not say. One more reason why it was a kind of safe space with Kunle and Sophia. We talk about everything and yet, nothing. Any sensible person would think they could easily plan something evil. Because of that, I spent most of my time in the library. Sometimes, I was not reading but looking through the vast catalogue and picking out the books that sounded interesting. That afternoon, I had piled up twenty books on the table. I was still looking for more when the door opened and Leilani walked in. It was almost lunch time so I figured she had come to invite me for it. “Hello,” I said. “Hey,” she said, picking up one of the books on the table. It was The Graveyard book by Neil Gaiman. “This looks like a children’s book.”
