Trinity's POV Terror crashed over me like a freezing wave, stealing the breath from my lungs and making my entire body tremble. The snarls were getting closer, echoing off the high hedges that now felt more like prison walls than beautiful landscaping. Seven rogues who had somehow infiltrated one of the most secure pack territories in the region. Am I actually cursed? The thought struck me with devastating clarity as I pressed my back against the marble bench, my eyes darting wildly around the garden for any possible escape route.

A tiny, round silver metallic sphere—no larger than a billiard ball—rolled slowly out of the vent pipe, dropping onto the concrete floor with a quiet CLINK... CLINK... CLINK.

He peered up from directly beneath it, blinking against the dust. He could see eight more identical holes above them. Barbaric snake, Holly griped. She had never liked Jorus and his brutish ways. How could he just blast a hole through the— Pain seared through his mind as Holly echoed the harrowing scream of agony she felt through her bond with Alisa. It was so sudden, and so severe, it nearly took his breath away.

As it would take a while to complete scanning all the items in the room, Zen peeked at Oritha and Akiko’s screen. “What do you have to do?” Zen asked, curious about Huff N Puff’s mini-game. Oritha looked at the holes in the ground and spun the overly large hammer in her hand like a pencil. On closer observation, she was waiting for something to appear from those nine holes.
