I pushed my chair backward, exiting the hard, iroko wood and I walked to the spot where Mrs Hawkins was standing, our English teacher. I collected the textbook and returned to my seat. Soon, everywhere was silent, Mrs. Hawkins went on — talking about folklore and whatnot. Some students were listening attentively, including Seb, and the rest just like me, were in our world. My mind strolled to the conversation I had earlier with my uncle, I couldn't believe the people in Genesis practiced and followed stupid rules that could lead to a loss of life or lives. It was an unbelievable theory, how could you make people lose their lives because you want to keep them from leaving to me — it was just

I’d heard there were places where you could rent the tapes for a lot less than what they cost to buy, but it hadn’t changed my mind. I started towards the doorway with the curtain but stopped short by the tapes next to it. This section was at least twice the size of all the others. The covers of these boxes were all screams and knives. Bloody chainsaws and heaving breasts. The sign resting here was carefully drawn in black gothic type letters, each dripping red: “Horror.” Hanging by a piece of tape off every other shelf were letter-sized flyers exactly like the ones that man was putting on windshields out at the Farm and Fleet. I peeled one off to get a closer look.

But before my fingers could even touch the metal, the door swung open on its own, slow and silent. It was pitch black inside. I couldn't see a thing. An icy chill spilled from the doorway. It carried the stench of old graves and rot. I stepped into the room, fumbling along the wall for a light switch. Suddenly, a little girl's shrill scream tore through the room. "Aaaaaah—!" A small, soaking wet figure with long, tangled hair lunged at me from the darkness! Her eyes were a dead, lifeless white. Her mouth was stretched wide in a horrifying shriek.

When I stopped, I was breathless. "I think I'm broken," I whispered. "No," he finally said. "You're not broken. You're human. But you are... dangerous." "Dangerous?" "To him. To anyone lucky enough to haunt your dreams." The booth felt too small. Too warm. My fingers curled around the edge of the seat. He leaned closer. Shadows moved behind the screen. "Would you come back next week?" "Why?" "Because I want to hear more. I want to know what happens next."

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. After saying this, I would love and appreciate your feedbacks and things to watch out for when I do edit the book. It would be really helpful and appreciated. Bonus scene ideas too would be great. Some would say to take that as a blessing and I like to think that I do. The Hook Man was the first and only supernatural case that I will ever take. I would much rather learn about the ghoulies and ghosts from books than from real life cos in all honesty, Drummond’s spirit scared the hell out of me. Dawn may have said I was a bad ass for stopping him but I didn’t feel like one. And it was blind luck that when he pulled me over it had brought me closer to his grave otherwise I doubt that I would’ve been able to torch his remains before he killed me.
