Horror Online Dating Stories Novels & Stories

The night before my flight home, my online dating partner texted me: [Tomorrow is our first anniversary. Shall we meet in person?] The moment that message appeared, the group chat filled with rich heiresses of the city that I had secretly snuck in exploded. [Congratulations, Wren! You’re at the last stage of your plan for revenge!!] Before I realized what was going on, a photo of me in my orientation days appeared in the chat. I was 340 pounds in the photo, my facial features were all squashed together, and my entire body was swollen beyond belief. “Whoa, Wren actually dated this piggy for one whole year all to seek revenge for Sean. Wren really loves Sean so much!” The group chat start

Allison replied. "What are you going on about?" Raeanne asked. "It's a paranormal dating online game. You buy a fantasy and play it out online. But here is the awesome part! They have real guys you chat with who play out the fantasy with you." Allison explained. "Isn't that a little cheesy? They're problem teenagers, or fat balding men pretending to be something they aren't. God only knows who you're really talking to. How safe is it, sounds very sketchy to me." Raeanne replied.

She sat on her bedroom floor with her back against the door and her phone screen washing blue light across her face, typing search after search with fingers that still hadn't fully stopped trembling. Giant black wolves Blackwood Forest. People seeing monsters in the woods. Wolves that talk. Nothing. A decade-old forum thread about hikers going missing, half the replies mocking the other half for believing it. A handful of grainy videos exactly like the one she'd laughed at hours earlier, filed under conspiracy and urban legend and things sad people believe, comment sections full of crying-laughing emojis. Nothing that looked like what she'd seen. Nothing that explained a word, spoken low and

“Sa piling kasi ng mahal nila, doon nila nahahanap ang kanilang sarili.” “Ah…” “Blue…” “Hmm…” “May tanong pa ako sa’yo.” “Inatake na naman ang curiosity mo. Ako naman ang magtatanong sa’yo. Kung isasapeikula ang buhay natin, ano kaya ang magiging genre?” “Hmm… Romance?” “Mali.” “Eh ano?” “Horror. Ikaw ba naman may kasamang sleepwalker na tumatawa na parang mangkukulam gabi-gabi.”

“Now would be a good time for you to share what’s going to make a bunch of men move to Howling Point, because Val’s not the only one who needs some good news.” Marilyn takes a deep breath, her eyes twinkling with excitement. “I’m really not supposed to tell you this, and it is still in the development phase, but it’s too good not to share with you guys.” She clasps her hands as her voice gets higher. “We’re going to launch a small-town dating app! It’s called Life Shift.” Val and I frown at each other. Marilyn sighs dramatically. “Don’t be such pessimists. I’m focusing on the very reason we moved here. We’ll be highlighting the stress-free life of Howling Point and how easy it would be to fi

She was looking over my shoulder at the same wall and reading some of them softly under her breath. “Hmmm, look at this one,” I said. “This person seems to have described our date last week in perfect detail.” It was a story about a woman who liked to be spanked and punished. “I like this one,” Carrie said, pointing to another. “I really think we should try and work this one into our next date.” The story was about a couple who arranged to act like strangers and meet up at a trashy bar and pick each other up. There were long descriptions about them fucking in the back of the bar as the guys playing pool watched and stroked their cues.

“But what if they’re not?” I bit my lip, the unease from earlier gnawing at me. “We need to find out if they’re telling the truth,” I said. “There has to be something online about these nightwalkers.” The boys nodded in agreement, and we spent the next hour scouring the internet. Most of what we found was vague or fictional—urban legends, horror stories, nothing concrete. Frustration bubbled inside me as I clicked link after link, searching for anything that felt real.

“Yeah, I’ll let them know we will be here until the stolen property is returned and to set up camp for the Berserkers.” “You and your team are more than welcome in our guest house.” “We are comfortable in our current accommodations. Thank you for the offer, though.” I left the room, and he followed, grabbing my good hand. I turned to face him, “Yes.” “Would you have dinner with me?” “Like a date?” I asked, confused. “Yes.” “It is not allowed. You are our client.” I stated and added, “Don’t werewolves have mates?” “They do, but some choose their own. I like you a lot, Nerine. You could do a lot of good here.”

Grey. She’d conducted controlled interviews online with actual blood drinkers and even dissected the corpses brought to her doctor's lab. Who believes in paranormal stuff? Doctor Grey knew that vampires, shape-shifters, and other creatures of the night existed, even though her coworkers on the quantum physics side of the equation had not been privy to the truth. So, maybe someone had found out and this was a simple joke? Maybe her dreams had no connection.
