Her mouth was stretched wide in a horrifying shriek. A wave of pure hatred rolled off her, so cold it burned the air. The chat stirred to life again. [Here we go! Classic jump scare!] [That's one of the manor's most vicious ghosts! It feeds on the players' fear!] [This newbie is toast! She won't even have time to react!] [I can already picture her getting torn to shreds...] But I didn't scream. I didn't run. Of course, my heart condition chose that exact moment to flare up. The pain was so bad I could barely stand.

She franticly tried to cover up as much of her exposed body parts as possible as she turned around. Two black silhouettes towered over her, and a red flicker lit up from a smoking cigarette. Then, a low rumbling growl vibrated through the air, and their soul-chilling eyes glowed in the night like burning coals from the pits of hell. "It's time to play, little human." a calm and unhurried voice spoke in the dark. Minnow could feel nothing but blind terror, and the fear sealed her throat. Suddenly they grabbed her legs, and she screamed out a guttural cry.

Its face, obscured by the cloak of darkness, revealed nothing but a pair of glinting eyes that seemed to pierce through her very soul. A chilling gust of wind rattled the window, causing it to tremble in its frame. The figure remained ominously still, its presence emanating a malevolent energy that filled the air with an almost tangible dread. Eve's breath caught in her throat as she realized that she was face to face with a being that defied comprehension. The intense horror scene reached its climax as the wind suddenly ceased, leaving an unsettling stillness in its wake. The monsters coming out of the darkness around them were unlike anything Jo had ever seen before, and she’d been watching horror movies since she was a toddler--or thereabouts. Some of these things were conglomerations of mythical creatures--with heads and claws of one species and bodies of something completely different. Some had wings, others had horns where they shouldn’t be, and the one thing they all had in common was that they were trying to kill them. Or eat them alive.
