Her head jerked back and a sharp gasp of air sucked into her lungs as if she’d been doused with icy water. Wolves gathered around in a large forest clearing. Some in human form, some in their fur. The moon was high in the sky and every one of them surrounded a large dais that rose several feet into the air. It looked as if it might have been carved out of an ancient tree stump. A figure dressed in white slowly climbed the steps that had been carved into one side of the tree stump.

nothing. I flipped the lid open. The restaurant lights caught the stone instantly, sending a spray of deep, electric blue light across my face. It was huge. A blue diamond, pear-cut, suspended on a delicate platinum chain that looked like it would snap if I breathed on it too hard. "Desmond," I breathed, my throat closing up. I couldn't even finish the sentence. "It’s the Blue Moonheart," he said in a low, husky voice. "It’s been in a vault for six months. I was waiting for... well, I don't know what I was waiting for. But it belongs on you."

I pull my sticky trousers from my relieved body and step into the shower to wash away the evidence of my dirty deed. The hot water works it’s magic and within ten minutes I feel refreshed and ready to start a busy Friday at The Blue Moon Bar and Grill. I had bought it as a rundown country bar from an elderly man who wanted to retire somewhere warmer. After reaching a deal on the price of the property and scraping together every last penny I could put my hands on, I was the proud owner of the most run down bar in the state. I fell in love with the place and have worked tirelessly over the last thirty years to turn it into the well-known meeting place it is today. The bar itself has been fully

I pull away and get up from the couch. -This is happening so fast," I was about to leave, but he stops my arm. -Please don't go. -Let go of me. -Please, you have to remember me, don't you remember me at all," he hugged me from behind and whispered in my ear. "Blue lake." -¿Blue lake? -Blue lake. -¿What's wrong with you? -It's not working.

We all looked at each other wondering what had happened. I was the first to move, taking long strides up the stairs to her room. I opened the door to Aimee’s room slowly. There stood in magnificent blue light, the mother of all our kind, Selene the moon goddess. she was one of the most beautiful beings I had ever seen, second to my Aimee. Her hair was white as snow and she wore the most elegant dress, it swirled around her like it was alive. My eyes flew to Aimee, who was floating in a mass of swirling blue light. Selene raised a finger to her lips,

Lilly smiled back. Gres seemed very happy to meet Lilly, she could see that Gres was as kind as her gentle mother, Lis. “And this is Flora….” Gres pointed to the woman walking behind her. Lilly looked at Flora who also looked back at her flatly. It was clear to Lilly that this woman didn't like her. “I'm Flora, one of the best young female warriors in Blue Moon.” Flora introduced herself with a straight face, but even so, she still bowed and Lilly could feel that she was forced to do it.

I said, lounging on a pile of silk pillows like the misunderstood Disney princess I was born to be. She waved that off with the flair of someone who’s wrestled more than one runaway royal into a sequin gown. “Showers are for mortals. You, darling, need a transformation. I already booked the exclusive spa in the Blue Moon Pack. You’re getting the ‘Divine Mate' treatment. So is your rabbit.” “Excuse you,” said Mr. Yellow, climbing onto the vanity like he belonged there. “I have delicate paws and centuries of dignity. I’ll need a gold-infused paw soak, a hay-scented facial, and a small platter of strawberries. Chilled.”
