Dr. Patel settled opposite me, notepad on her lap, pen uncapped but resting. “There’s no rush,” she said gently. “We can sit in silence if that’s easier today. Or we can talk about the weather. Whatever feels right.” I laughed, a wet little sound. “I don’t even know where to start.” “That’s okay. Beginnings are messy.” She smiled. “Sometimes people start with how they’re feeling in their body right now.” I closed my eyes.

As usual, Kelvin's words were precise, always saying exactly what he thought, even more bewildered.

Or should I tell her when I got into his company? Or when he made me the Manager? Or when he kissed me? Or when we made out on his rooftop? Or when he confessed?
