Chapter 9 We both slid into the booth, sitting across from Deacon’s brother, Hunter. He was very good looking and the total opposite of Deacon. Hunter had shaggy, black hair, and piercing blue eyes like ice. Unlike Deacon’s broody demeanor, Hunter was very outgoing and happy to be around other people. He was certainly a lot taller than Deacon by a good five inches. We had come to learn that their parents had wanted Hunter to get in early to surprise him, but with him staying at my house, no one was home to let him in.

My chest heaved as he moved towards me with that predatory grace. When he reached me, he leaned down and I could smell his musky cologne. I saw the dark tattoos sprawled on his skin through his unbuttoned shirt. The intricate designs crawled down his neck and disappeared beneath his shirt.

Either way it would definitely end up with her getting arrested. "Aren't you happy?" he asked. Happy? Was this guy serious? Why the fuck would she be happy? None of this made sense and it was messing with her head. She couldn't be his beloved. She just couldn't. Fate wouldn't be that cruel to her. Not that it would matter much when she drove the dagger into his heart, but still it was like an insult to her very existence. She was a vampire hunter, not a vampire fucking lover. "I take it that it's a no then," he said after a few moments of her intense silence, "I'm sure you will come around."

He had the body of baseball players. He was six feet tall. His arms were big they could hold three people at once. He had a very hideous face with a beard he well took care of.

He looked at me like I was crazy or something and didn't understand what I was asking him. "I'll take it from here, sir." A voice said and I turned to see Hunter standing there, a white bag in his hand. He wore a black Henley shirt on a grey fitted jeans and a brown skate beanie with a cuff. He had a brown tan bucks on, completing the casual he had been aiming for. "Sorry, who are you?" I asked, frowning slightly as I looked at him. "Nice one, cut it out." He smiled his sexy smile but I didn't return it.

She knew the cleanup team would arrive soon. They exited the woods and got back into the car. Everyone was silent, until Ruth finally spoke again. “Those people you saw... they’re called the Hunters. Not the deer-and-rabbit kind. The ones who bear hatred for werewolves. They pretty much want to wipe every werewolf off the map. Good or bad, it doesn’t matter to them.” She paused and glanced at them. “Alex, you look like you just got indigestion. Are you okay?” Alexander looked up slowly, worry all over his face. “Those two back there...” he muttered.

The police had to get involved, there were two police cars out the front of the diner. Ducking under the police tape, Damien stepped into his diner, he was feared by everyone, humans, wolves and vampires alike, he was known as the Blood Alpha and that was not just because Blood is his surname.
