I looked at myself in the vanity mirror. Today was the day. Hunter's first big match. And Brenda had made sure I was wearing one of the outfits she'd handpicked. "You need to look cute," she'd said over video call last night. "But not regular cute. Killer cute. Make-heads-turn cute." After almost an hour of her bossing me around through FaceTime, we'd settled on this: an oversized black sweater with little gold star details scattered across it. Soft. Fell off one shoulder. Hit mid-thigh.

The rest had guns or looked like they were about to tip over into their animal forms. Scarlet had her flaming sword ready and ignited. Nix did as well. Her clothes were the snug leathers of battle, and look well-used from this distance. Her long brown hair was pulled back into braids and a high ponytail that looked like it was dancing in some unfelt breeze. "Damn it, Hellion!" Xander said as he lowered his weapon, thumbed the safety on before putting it in his holster. I didn't know he even had a holster. Or that he'd taken to wearing it.

KNOX Saturday started with Hunter showing up at my door at seven-forty-five wearing a tiny leather jacket over his dinosaur pajamas. He had his helmet under his arm. "Luna says she's not ready yet," he announced. "But I am ready. I have been ready." I crouched down. "You're not wearing pants." He looked down. Considered this. "I'll go put pants on," he said, with the gravity of a man making a tactical adjustment.

These people looked like hunters that he had seen in movies about fantasy or the past medieval age. Other than the group, there were also several other people coming out of the place wearing different kinds of outfit. But Jai noticed one thing that’s similar from all of them: Their clothes are similar in either looking like furry animal skins or animal hide, plates, one of them even wore a cuirass, and iron boots. He also noticed that most of them were bringing weapons on different parts of their body. ‘I’ve seen adventurers or fantastical hunters in movies… I imagined those were what hunters would actually wear in the past. But seeing people actually wear them for a real, fighting purposes

"I told you I want to be alone Ric―" Neal stopped when he saw who entered his room. Hunter. Not in his earlier blood drenched shirt though. He is wearing a light blue button up and black dress pants now. Hunter ran a hand through his damped locks, a gesture he does whenever he is tense. Neal unconsciously breathed in the fresh scent of body wash that hit his nose.

I asked flatly. Hunter blinked. “What?” I held up a piece of fabric. “This,” I said, my voice rising slightly. “Is a nightdress.” I pulled out another. “And this? Lingerie.” Another. “Swimsuit.” I tossed the bag aside in frustration. “There’s not a single proper outfit in here!” Hunter looked genuinely confused as he took one of the dresses from my hand. “What’s wrong with it?” I stared at him. “Are you serious?” He tilted his head slightly.

AVA "That's the guy?" Hunter asked without looking at me. "Yes," I replied, my eyes still locked with the man standing at the front of our house. I heard Hunter growl. I ignored it and kept looking at the him. He was wearing a white shirt, black learher pants and his sleek hair was combed to the back neatly. I heard a bang and snapped out of my trance, spinning around my spot to see Hunter leaving the room with fresh clothes on. For a moment, I caught his claws extending, letting me know he was halfway to shifting into his wolf.

Things that don’t belong in the same world I live in. Hunter’s dressed down today. No suit. Just dark jeans and a white button-down that he rolled up to the elbows like he was halfway between boss and boy-next-door. His jaw is dusted with stubble and he keeps running his hand through his hair like it’s some involuntary tic he’s not aware of. He looks… normal. Approachable, Dangerously human. My hands are still damp from the dishwater as I grip the laundry basket, pretending to fluff the already-fluffed throw pillows on the couch.

What had triggered the memory? Too submerged in his thoughts, he hadn't noticed his friends' arrival yet until the sudden clearing of someone's throat broke him out of his trance. He looked up and took in the appearances of his friends. Hunter, as always, was dressed in moody colours — simple black pants and a black shirt, which had a tiger print peeking underneath his black leather jacket with black boots to complete the outfit. Blayze, on the other hand, was dressed in blue washed jeans and a white hoodie which had the words TGIF written boldly in black at the front with a pair of white sneakers. Typical Blayze.
