My world isn’t the vibrant streets of Rifongie but the dark, chaotic, and dangerous forest a few kilometers from the town. Here I am, hidden within the hollow of a massive tree I call home. This tree, draped in glowing vines and flowers that pulse softly in the night, is my sanctuary—the only safe place for someone like me. Around me, the forest hums with life: the crystalline chirps of birds with wings like stained glass, the thunderous footsteps of giant beasts, and the faint whispers of the wind, as if it carries secrets it dares not speak aloud. This place is no haven. It’s a battlefield where weak creatures like me must hide to survive. Why am I here? Why am I, a dwarf, living like this

Pero hindi imposible na mahanap ko ang kailangan ko dahil hindi ito man-made forest. Lumiko ako at kmuntikan na akong madapa dahil sa nakausling ugat mula sa isang puno. Dinig na dinig ko pa rin ang takbo ng minotaur na nakasunod lang sa akin. It was like a raging bull that want to smack the hell out of me. "Come on, please trees...where are you?" Desperadang turan ko habang tumatakbo. Nakakaramdam na ako ng pagod pero hindi iyon sapat para manghina ako.

Hindi nagtagal ay narating ko na ang tree house. Iginila kong muli ang mga mata sa paligid. This time I was right here on top of the tree. “Wow! This is really heaven! It’s so beautiful up here!” kulang ang mga salita para i-describe ang aking mga nakikita. Natatanaw ko ang buong isla at napakalawak na karagatan. Napakapayapa… Napakatahimik... Parang kaysarap tirahan. Si Franco ay seryosong nakamasid lamang sa akin.

Paniguradong hindi na tatalab sa akin ang malamig na hangin. Nang makalabas ako at makapunta sa ninais kong lakaran ay hindi nga ako nagkakamali. Malamig at nararamdaman mo parin pero hindi kasing lamig para manginig ang isang tao. Napaupo ako sa isang duyan na nakasabit sa dalawang palm tree. At sa bawat pag-ugoy ko ay ang siya namang paghampas ng alon sa baybayin.

Bakit parang iba ang nararamdaman ko? Hinawakan ko ang aking ID at ginawang pamaypay sa aking mukha para maibsan ang nararamdaman kong init sa paligid. Tumingala si Abe at bahagyang tumama ang araw sa kanya. Tanging ang dalawang Palm Tree ang nagbibigay ng kaunting takip sa amin mula sa araw. "Wala kasing shed dito. Hayaan mo ipapaayos ko ito o kung may gusto kang ilagay sabihin mo lang, ha?"

Ganito naman talaga ito, tila kay laki ng problema nito sa mundo. May nakita naman akong malaking tulay na gawa sa kahoy na may nakapalibot na vines to cross over the huge swamp. And across that is the huge tree pero nanlaki na lang ako ng marealized ko kung ano ang punong ito. It is a freaking huge tree house! No, this is not just a tree house, this is the mother of all tree house. A tree palace! But shit, it sounds so corny coming from me. Tree palace?! I know they have a better name with this freaking enormous tree.

The envious neighbor, with the Daimio and his Court following, then went into the garden, and approaching a dead tree, took out a handful of the ashes which he carried with him, and scattered them over the tree. But not only did the tree not burst into flower, but not even a bud came forth. Thinking that he had not used enough ashes, the old man took handfuls and again sprinkled them over the withered tree. But all to no effect. After trying several times, the ashes were blown into the Daimio's eyes.

I just stand up, tried to balance my left leg while holding the trunk of that tree, ang mismong saksi sa nangyari sa akin. Nasapo ko pa ito saka umiling. If the moon fall upon the trees it will be broken in pieces and the forest will die." I flopped on my bed and stare at the ceiling. Im so tired of thinking about everything. I can't digest what Silvana told me a while ago. I don't know she's a poet. So does it mean that I'm the tree while Asmodeus is the moon?

Hindi ko alam kung bakit niya na sabi iyon, pero I felt him as my older brother. He is with me now, sitting in a tree. It's like a log, because it's just lying on the ground. Mukhang pinutol mula sa malaking puno rito. Hindi ko naman alam kung anong klaseng puno ito, pero ginawa siyang upuan, at mukhang pahingaan narin. Although I couldn't squeeze my stomach, I just stretched my legs. Nakalimutan kong hindi nga pala pwedeng maipit ang tiyan ko, dahil may buhay ng masasaktan kung sakali.
