I Read This Book Yesterday Novels & Stories

Levi POV. “Yeah, we’re good. You okay?” I asked, pressing the phone to my ear as I leaned against the kitchen counter. Mom immediately launched into it, her voice bright with that familiar excitement that always made me smile. “I’m perfect! I got new books yesterday — you know that little bookstore on Maple? They had this new book in their series, 'I'm not yours, vito' and two thrillers I’ve been waiting for. I stayed up way too late yesterday.”

I am grateful for the respite, as no one seems to be paying attention to me. I pull my cell phone out of my bag and open the Kindle app. It's still a while before class starts, so I want to read a chapter first. I duck my head and look at my phone as I devour the words on the screen. I started a book last night , and by all the saints, I think this book is going to tear me apart by the end. The main character goes through so much and then the supposed hero makes her suffer too. I must have cried about a million times, especially when I got to the part of the book about her past. I haven't even finished it yet and I feel like I already have a book hangover.

Today, she decided to go back and finish reading the book. However, she couldn't find the book after searching the store twice. She asked the store manager who replied, "Oh, that book? It was sold yesterday." Miranda said in surprise, "What? Wasn't it a part of the owner's private collection and not for sale?" The manager nodded. "It was, but the person who came yesterday was a close friend of the owner. Apparently, they had been through life and death together, so the owner personally told me to sell the book to him. I'm sorry about that."

Damn, I almost shivered at the intensity of his gaze when he saw my wounds! How much more when he learns my real secret? I leaned on the back rest of the chair and thought the possible places that I lost it. I know it was still there yesterday. We used that book yesterday and I finished reading at page 226. I used it as a bookmark which is not really a good idea but I know that I tucked it real good. I didn’t open my book since last night…but Josiah held it for me on the way to the room. Shit?

Why do I feel disappointed. We begin eating . Everything deliciously made. The rest of the day , we spend it just like we used to. She doesn't make any move on me nor does she say any words. I don't know if this is the Amy I want or the other Amy. I wonder how this is going to go on. *** Hello, Good morning to you all. Hope you are all okay. Thanks so much for reading my book. He could choose to believe or not, it was up to him. I put the phone away, picking my book up instead to continue reading. I took the page marker out, it was very handy, and picked up where I last stopped. I wasn't even halfway through with the novel and that was depressing. Yes, I had only just started reading it yesterday and I hadn't had much time to continue reading today between school and the driving lesson I'd taken with my foster mom —I was learning to drive!—, but it was sad still because I considered myself a fast reader.

And that was exactly what I did. The Next Morning I stretched, my body aching from the way I had passed out last night. The book was still beside me, half-open, pages slightly crumpled from how I had clutched it in my sleep. I groaned, rubbing my eyes open. Being alone yesterday was fun as hell. But I knew I couldn’t do that again. Everyone would be back into position by now and Damien too. He was unpredictable. He might have allowed me snooping around the house last night, but that didn’t mean he always would.

Day 23. I had stayed up all the night with the book. It was the oddest book I had ever seen. I sat at my desk in my small room, and carefully opened the black book. It was the most confusing thing I had ever seen but yet I had been savagely drawn to it, like it held some sort of secrets I was supposed to uncover.

~~~ Amaya Shit. I woke up today thinking that I'll be able to have a full day of relaxation but that's unfortunately not the case. When I opened my phone to check the notifications I got during the night. I saw the reminder that the due date to send in my book to my editor was today. Dammit, I'm not even close to finishing this book. I suddenly regret the choice I made to use up a whole night's worth of work only to rewatch the whole Hunger Games series even though I've already watched it.
