ISLA'S POV The rain had started hours ago, and by now, the city was cloaked in a soft, persistent drizzle that clung to every surface. I stood at the window of our apartment, watching droplets trace paths down the glass like nervous fingers tapping at memories. The skyline blinked in blurred outlines, buildings melting into the night. Behind me, Nathan was still asleep, the soft rise and fall of his chest matching the slow rhythm of the rain.

Little drops of rain fell on my face and I closed my eyes. As the rain steadily came down harder, I welcomed it on my face like a cleansing and let myself get soaked. I sat up and listened to the rain fall around me, letting the sound deafen my pain. “I guess we will always meet in the rain, won’t we?” I immediately opened my eyes and looked around. I didn’t see anyone around, but I recognized the voice. I looked even harder, and I still couldn’t see anyone. Was I going crazy?

“All I remember was I was inside the palace in the middle of the dancing crowd there was blood I saw myself I was Suzy.” I saw myself I was Suzy... I saw myself I was Suzy... I stayed glued to the spot, hoping the rain would somehow wash away the pain I was feeling inside. I cried while the heavy rain drops came at me mercilessly. Just then, a shadow appeared beside me and I noticed something hovering above me, suddenly shielding me from the downpour. I lifted my face from the ground to see a woman holding an umbrella above my head while she got drenched instead.

It was as if the rug had been pulled out from under me, leaving me vulnerable and questioning my own judgment. "Jane..." I heard my name being called out from behind me. I turned around to see Brandon standing there, soaking in rainwater, his eyes filled with concern. He reached out a hand to help me up, but I hesitated, unsure if I could trust him or anyone else again. The rain continued to pour down around us, mirroring the storm of emotions raging within me. "Just leave me," I whispered, my voice barely audible over the sound of raindrops hitting the ground. But Brandon didn't budge; instead, he took a step closer, his gaze unwavering.

I stood outside the house watching the rain , this was the only reason why I was still here. If it hadn’t been for the rain , then I don’t think that I would still be here .
