As soon as I pushed open the heavy, solid wood door, Mom exclaimed, "This door... it must weigh half a ton!" I explained, "Mom, safety comes first. The decor was minimalist yet stylish. The walls had concealed protective steel plates embedded within, and the sprinkler system and smoke detectors in the ceiling were hidden among the decorative molding. The north wing was a long hall and it was dark, but the dark blue light made it less frightening. My legs dragged against the marble ground. Every thought of staring at the intricate parts of the house left my mind as I stood at the huge door in front of me. That oak wood-designed carved door was taller than my eyes could see and as large as the alpha—my husband. The thought sounded so foreign to my ears. A guard was stationed at the door, and he gave me a curt bow, analyzing me. "You really shouldn't be here, Luna." He said, and I gave him a frown, wondering what he meant. For some reason, I didn't want to show him any form of weakness, even though his large form was imposing against mine.

As we get closer, I can see more details - the massive, intricately-carved front doors, the grand marble entryway, and of course, the guards standing in front of the castle. I hear the locks on the door snap open, and Jaxton alights from the car, handing the keys of the car to one of his men, probably for him to park it. I lean back in my seat, deciding to make things unnecessarily hard for him. The guard comes over and opens the door of the car, lowering his head in greeting. Uh, why is he doing that? I gnore him, and the open door, folding my arms across my chest. From the corner of my eyes, I notice Jaxton stop and turn to see what's happening. Our eyes meet and holds, and I tilt my chin

Plus I was really pregnant so I was a bit wobbly. The maids smirked behind me, following us down the hall. We zigged and zagged through the mess of hallways until we came to a large door. The estate was a maze at best, and when I’d been able to walk around freely, I’d explored as much as I could. But I hadn’t been allowed to see everything. This door, for example, had been off-limits. It was a door I’d never been behind before. Four guards stood in front of it. It was at least fifteen feet tall and made of iron, by the looks of it.

“Ye lads got more ‘crew?’ We’re gonna need security. And an advanced alarm system. I want this place sealed tighter than the crown jewels.” Callum grinned, slipping an arm around my waist. “Aye, lass. We’ve got more crew. And they’ll be glad tae move in.” Keiran kissed the side of my head. “This castle’s gonna be the safest bloody fortress in the country.” I smiled. “Good. Because this is home now. And I want all of us protected.” As if to prove my point, a set of French doors at the end of the hall opened to reveal a view of the inner courtyard. There were stone paths, lush gardens, and a huge central fountain pouring into the moat beyond. Yes. The actual moat.

Only the ceaseless thrum of the generators.

There's four rooms that are impenetrable in this pack house. The largest is in the basement. The walls and ceiling are steel, the door is a 3-in steel door that locks securely from the inside. There's two more smaller rooms just like that. One in my father's room and one in mine. My father's secured room was there first. He had it put in when he was the Alpha. It's basically a panic room. It's for his Luna in case something happens and the luna cannot get to the one in the basement.

“Even before we were dating, we all hung out here with Damien. Hell. I probably know this house better than you do.” Thane gave me an odd expression, but said nothing, except, “There is a guard posted at your door. The doors are locked, as are the Alpha’s doors. There are alarms on the windows in the packhouse, so please don’t make us have to chase you. There really would be no point.” With that, he shut the door and I heard a resounding click as the lock turned into place. With a sigh, I flopped onto the bed. “Well. Now what…?”

There’s not another house in sight. Turning off the ignition, Jaxon steps out of the car, meets me at the passenger door, and ushers me to the front door. The door has an infrared pad that scans his eye and his thumb before it asks for voice recognition. It’s seriously high-tech. Once Jaxon’s security is deactivated, he opens the door and leads me inside. The house is as breathtaking outside as it is inside. There are tall ceilings with gleaming opal floors, chandeliers, and winding stairs that lead up to the second level.

He wore a black butler suit and seemed surprised to see Noah standing in front of him, “f-future Luna you already wake up? I-I must tell the Alpha immediately, p-please wait here.” As soon as the boy left, there was a clicking sound coming from the door when he closed it. ‘I don't want to wait, I want to leave!’ Noah tried to open the door again but failed, it didn't budge. ‘It seems the door was mechanically locked from the outside.’ So Noah thought of breaking the door open, but when he analyzed it carefully, the door was too sturdy for him. ‘This door looks like an ordinary white wooden door, but actually, it is made from iron!’ he desperately muffled.
