Inside Castle Walls Novels & Stories

[First Failed Attempt] ZAIDEN My eyes glowed red with anger at my disability to capture the princess. I failed. I had one objective and I failed. How could I have allowed that to happen? I stormed through the walls of the Tudor-styled three-story castle, the clump of my footsteps echoing on the tiled flooring and bouncing off the wall-papered walls. As soon as I was inside, floor-to-ceiling doors slammed shut behind me, caging me inside a dark entryway—sophisticated and decorated in intricately designed woodwork. Priceless artifacts and paintings of those gone on before adorned the walls. For centuries, brick walls and sections of decorative siding made from wooden beams and white stucco hel

The general Onan said as they walked further into the impressive castle. The fortress didn't look like the Lavan palace at all. Contrary to the pure white walls Azalia was used to, these walls were made of dark stones and the floor was covered with black marble. The ceilings were high and the corridors seemingly never-ending, the golden torches hanging from the walls lightening their way. "Not even the King's advisors, who aren't happy about this alliance?" Azalia boldly asked Onan. She knew that some people were firmly against her marrying the Adom King, and so had a hard time believing nobody would try anything against her.

I hadn’t seen this grand entryway. The inside of the castle is beautiful. High vaulted ceilings, tall stained glass windows, and ornate chandeliers. The floors are marble and the walls are made of dark gray stone that perfectly replicates all of the tales of castles that I had read in my fairytales growing up. Now, I am the princess trapped inside the castle with a monster. If he is a monster.

My fate rested on my ability to be convincing and to stay unnoticed. We drove closer, and the castle was exactly what I had imagined— intimidating, built for war rather than beauty. Massive walls made of weathered grey stone stretched impossibly high. The structure wasn’t adorned with the beauty one would expect from royalty. Just brutal strength designed to keep intruders out and secrets locked within. Narrow slits replaced windows, offering only the barest glimpse of the outside world as if the castle itself hated the idea of warmth or light. Inside the walls, the contrast was almost jarring. The grounds were well-kept and beautified with trimmed hedges and gardens.

Fourteen skinny, square towers are both a defensive and decorational aspect of this elegant castle and are connected by strengthened, wide walls made of dark red stone. Refined windows are scattered here and there across the walls in an asymmetric pattern, along with overhanging crenelations for archers and artillery. On the walls were paintings of vampires, above each was a portrait of the past Kings. The gardens and secrete patios were heaven full of flowering fragrances, the nooks and crannies were of sheer delight. Behind the garden was a big gate leading to the training field. This castle has stood the test of time and despite knowing some very rough times, the castle still stands and i

Anyone else who wanted to attack would have to contend with a steep climb up a treacherous mountain first, so there was no way anyone was going to be able to invade this particular stronghold. They walked past the guards who saluted Slate and into his home. The castle was made of large stone rocks of dark gray. Inside, sparse artwork hung on the walls, which were lit by a few lantern sconces from time to time, but for the most part, the interior was dark, the gray stones the most prominent feature of the hall we passed through to a den with a similar make up.

Haven had no idea what she was getting herself into. As we stepped into the castle's interior, I was enveloped by an atmosphere of somber, gothic grandeur. The black stone walls seemed to absorb the faint candlelight, casting long, ominous shadows across the floor. The ripped curtains, like dark, tattered veils, hung in rows along the windows, filtering the moonlight and casting an eerie, otherworldly glow over the space.

I ask, tilting my head curiously. "Eighteen." "Hey, Dominic and Katie," Zack calls to us over his shoulder. "The doors are opening." Dominic takes my hand, and we dart ahead to catch up, stopping to watch the enormous, sparkling gates slowly unfold. Something white and massive shimmers beyond the gates, and I stretch my neck to get a better look. It's a castle, but not just any castle-this one reaches all the way around the golden wall on a hill, with an entire city below.

"That's a brilliant idea, Luna. Are we going right now? I think I do not have anything to do today. I am equally bored." We continued our walk, heading towards the outer edge of the castle grounds. The castle stood tall and imposing, surrounded by a sturdy stone wall that provided a sense of security. The walls were adorned with intricate carvings and decorated with flags representing the kingdom. As we passed the western side of the castle, we came across a picturesque garden with vibrant flowers blooming in full glory. It was different from the one I always visit, and I can swear that it was much prettier than the other. The scent of roses and lilies filled the air, creating a serene atmos

Cassandra and Allana will pay for taking my childhood away from me, and they will never get the chance to get their filthy hands on my child. Xavier's castle looms in the distance; the grey stones blend into the stormy grey clouds in the sky behind it. Dark green moss grows along the walls surrounding the castle grounds; I can make out the guards standing on top of the walls, peering down at us. Each corner of the wall meets a tower; slits in the walls look like windows; this place looks cold and unfeeling, and it feels like it. As we walk closer to the castle, Xavier raises an arm in the air; chains rattle as the gates open, and he motions for us to follow him inside. Skyla hooks her arm th
