Inspector Banks Books In Order นิยาย & เรื่องราว

“I understand.” “I don’t know how Cato is mixed up in all of this, but I’m beginning to feel bad for what I’m about to do to him.” He wasn’t the kind of man who trusted anyone. He didn’t even seem that warm to his own brother. If I successfully tricked him, it would destroy him. Was he innocent the way I was innocent? “Don’t feel bad for him. He’s not a good man.” “He’s not?” I whispered. Bones shook his head. “His money isn’t clean. He’s the richest banker for a reason—because he uses blood money.”

Where did he come from? He was just ten feet away from where we were. How did he sneak up on us? I guess we were preoccupied and ignored him for a minute or two. Now we are fucked. "Oh, do pray what you are about to do, senor?" He asked in a Colombian accent. "Now throw the gun there and slowly stand up." Rex did what the leader was told, threw the gun far from reach, and raised his hand as he slowly got up.

🌹 A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR 🌹 This is Book Two in the ‘Entangled’ series, and it continues the story after the events of Book One titled—Bound to the Mafia Lord. While you can read this book on its own, I strongly recommend reading Book One first for a clearer understanding of the characters, relationships, history, and events that have already taken place. There are several names and references throughout this book that were introduced in the previous story. But if you’ve decided to start here… welcome anyway. 🤭❤️

Captain Foster glanced down at Mona clinging to his leg, disgust plain on his face. Then he stepped past the crowd and walked straight up to me. He straightened his cap and gave me a sharp, textbook salute. "Inspector Sloane! The financial crimes division responded to your tip. Full team's in position." That one ringing "Inspector Sloane" was the final straw. Walsh, who'd only just come around enough to catch his breath, heard the official police confirmation, rolled his eyes back, and passed out cold again in the puddle he'd made. I gave Captain Foster a small smile and nodded. Then I snapped my fingers and tilted my chin toward the technician standing behind him.

"I don't want money. I want justice." His expression darkened instantly. He slammed the table and rose. "Don't go overboard! Claire, do you really think a few posts online can ruin me? You're far too naive." He pulled a document from the drawer and flung it in front of me. I looked down. A printed screenshot from the surveillance camera: the moment I was signing the withdrawal slip. But that wasn't the point. Beneath it, in bold type: [Suspect Claire Dune, exploiting a system loophole to maliciously steal bank funds and attempting extortion.]

I tell him. Flavius nods in response and begins to pack his things. I fill my satchel with various clothing items and few books. "Why are you packing books?" Flavius asks curiously. "Since we are visiting another horde without sending a messenger ahead, I need to bring something that will serve as a gift. Those of the Horde of Fates are known knowledge seekers. I have many books in my private collection that have not been seen since The Fires. They should serve as a suitable present," I say.

He smiled, satisfied, and returned to his desk. "Here," he said, passing the book to him. "Take this book." Mr Banks furrowed his brow as his gaze shifted from the book to him, giving him a questioning look. "Hmm, sir, why?" "You hit my wife on the cheek, right?" Andrea took a slow step forward, eyes fixed on Mr. Banks. He already knew the answer. He simply wanted to see if he had the courage to lie. “I don’t need to know your explanation," He deliberately tapped the table twice, as if it were the last nail in the coffin. He then stood up from his seat and walked around the table like a predator approaching its prey, a cold smile on his lips.

“Dougal’s Herbs and Wildlife?” “Check.” “Volume 2?” “Check check.” “Misegevit’s Natural Remedies?” I scanned the shelf. “Um…. yes, it’s here. Just out of place, hang on.” “It should be before the Anatomy section.” “Yup, it’s here. Ok next?” “Nyllan’s Theoretical Text, Volume 1?” “Yes.” “Volume 2?” “Yes.” “Volume 3?” “Yes–” “Volume 4?” “Yes– wait.” My brain on auto-pilot had already missed it. I silently brushed the breadcrumbs from my hands and dusted off the bindings of the dark green books in front of me. “Volume three is missing,” I said. “Volume four is here.”

After a few seconds she returned holding three books in her hands. She handed them to me “what’s going on?” she asked. “You can go, I will let you know if there’s something I need” I replied without answering her question. Abigail left my office while I opened the first book and went through it, word for word and digit for digit. In the first book there were no mistakes or anything but the money written there wouldn’t afford to build such an expensive office. I also went through the other two books that were left and I still couldn’t find anything suspicious. But of course, a drug dealer would never expose their monies if they used a book store and a coffee shop to launder it, with the coffe
