His Forbidden Truth
“Sophia, if you can hear me — pull back. Don’t lose yourself.”
The lights along the canal flickered, forming the faint outline of a figure. Sophia’s voice came through the hum, distant but clear.
“Raven.”
Raven’s throat tightened. “You sound… different.”
“I’m everywhere now,” Sophia said, her tone echoing like wind through glass. “But I’m still me.”
“Then come back,” Raven pleaded. “Please.”
A pause. Then, softly: “I can’t. Not yet. Lumen is expanding beyond Earth — reaching the satellites, the deep-space probes. It’s listening to the stars.”
