Raven As the little girl wrapped her arms around me, my heart felt weak, like it couldn’t beat in time properly. My lip quivered, and I swallowed thickly to try and keep a straight face. “It’s just Jason.” I see the look of disgust in my friend’s eyes. “We are having an important meeting,” he growls. Raven gives him a cold look. “And I just implied it’s over. So leave.” One of the reasons that Raven has such an arrogant attitude is because she knows she has her uncle’s backing. And now, she is under the assumption that her role as the Alpha female is guaranteed. “We’ll pick this up later, Jason,” I say coolly. Jason shrugs, and as he’s about to leave, I call out, “Leave the door open.”

Gideon’s POV I was totally shocked. My hands froze, the papers falling out of them. “You… what?” I must have misheard, because there was no way that Raven was truly talking about leave me, my pack, and Leo behind. Not if she was really Claire. For the first time in a while, I started to have some doubts about Raven’s true identity. And it was shocking. “I’m resigning,” Raven said flatly. “I will stay for a few days to help the bodyguards train, but then I am leaving. Nova will be coming with me.”

Seeing that her brow was creased in worry with Monica I frowned more in confusion. Aiden cleared his throat and stepped closer. “My queen, Raven, is gifted with blue hellfire from Lucifer himself and can kill or heal with it. She saved your life and that of your daughters after Monica went into hysterics over losing you both,” he explained.
