The mere thought sent tears welling up in my eyes. I looked around the room, it was dimly lit, with a single flickering light bulb hanging from the ceiling. The walls were rough and uneven, as if they hadn't seen a fresh coat of paint in years. The air was heavy with a musty smell, a combination of dampness and neglect. As I looked around, I could see the signs of the room's roughness. The furniture was old and worn, with peeling upholstery and scratches on the wooden surfaces. The chair I was tied to was sturdy but uncomfortable, its arms worn down from years of use.

Although everyone was still afraid of him, their company was one that everyone wanted to join, not because of the yearly event, but because it was undoubtedly one of the best companies. The tables, chairs and bar area matched those that were downstairs, and the room was romantically glowing thanks to the subtle candles and soft lighting. The blonde tart continued to walk further into the room, placing one overly high heeled shoe in front of the other, as though she was walking along a tight rope. She shimmied her derrière like a novice catwalk model… How the hell she managed to not topple over with the weight of her enormous bazookas was beyond me.

THEO Brynn’s room was almost entirely packed up except for the things on her walls. I wished I had seen what this room looked like before it was packed up. The walls were painted to look like they were part of a galaxy. The blacks, purples, blues, and white stars blended together to create a stunning mural. It made me wonder who designed it because it was customized. She also had a Queen-sized bed along the back wall. It had boxes scattered on top of it. It made me happy to see it because it showed that our lives were being joined together. It was no longer my place but our home.

Nine months ago most of these people had been strangers to each other, and now they filled a kitchen like they'd always belonged in it, like the shape of the room had been waiting for exactly this configuration of voices. She turned and found me watching. She crossed the kitchen and stopped in front of me, close enough that the noise around us blurred into background. "You did this," I said quietly. "This room.
