Joanna glared at Millie, pride written across her face. Millie pursed her lips to indicate that she was listening. Joanna looked around. Once she confirmed that no one was listening, she leaned over to whisper into Millie's ear, "The one I want to meet is M, from the M Base!" Millie narrowed her eyes. Oh? Joanna huffed and pushed her hair back. She looked at Millie and asked, "Aren't you stunned to hear his name?" Millie raised her eyebrows. Joanna was still Joanna, a spoiled little princess who was absolutely brainless.

I shook my head. “I’m not really feeling like I want to,” I said. “Is that okay? I would rather curl up and watch a movie or something.” I looked at Joanna, still in her ball gown with an apron over the top. “You should go, Joanna,” I said. “I know you were looking forward to it. You have some friends that came in, right?” Joanna nodded. “Luna Lexi and Alpha Luke,” she said. “You will be meeting with them tomorrow. Lexi has the gift of healing.”

Joanna said, closing the door behind them. Drexton, Maddox, and Jaxon faced her without moving an inch. "I—" "What are you hiding, Joanna?" Jaxon asked, their gazes not leaving her. Joanna chuckled awkwardly. "You people should eat first. I promise it's nothing serious." "And you are nervous," Maddox said. The smile on Joanna's face fell as her eyes welled up with tears.

"I'm sorry for all the things you've been through. But I promise, three years from now, I'll make you the real Mrs. Brooks." Joanna smiled softly. "Alright." Theo hugged her tightly, then reluctantly left. As soon as he was gone, Joanna changed out of her pajamas and into her favorite outfit. The maid who cared for her came in and spoke quietly, "Everything is ready." Theo would never guess that the woman he had hired to spy on Joanna was actually working for her parents. Joanna followed the maid out the back door. The moment the black car drove away from the villa, flames exploded behind them in a fiery blaze.

Instead, she switched tracks and said, “It seems that a lot has happened to you in the past two years. Are you doing all right?” Samantha nodded. “I’m doing quite well. How about you? Are you still abroad?” Joanna chuckled and said, “I’ll land at Southrive Airport tomorrow morning at eleven. I’ll then take a bus to Swallowston. Why? Are you going to come to pick me up?” Samantha was overjoyed upon hearing that. ‘Jojo’s coming back?!’ “Are you really coming home?” Samantha asked. Joanna answered with an “mm-hm.”

"When it became dangerous she ran and she's been running ever since." "The registry on my desk," I said slowly. "Lists a pack healer as executed by pack order eight years ago." I held her gaze. "The same night Jordan's parents died."

No one exchanged any more words as the three left. Joanne looked down at her flat belly. Rowena had not even bothered to acknowledge the baby except to call out her arrogance. But did she expect any more from her? Should she even expect anything from anyone anymore? She let out a defeated sigh. She stood in the middle of the room for some five minutes before abruptly turning to the front door to go and change that damned door lock. . . . ____

Jojo was silent for a while. She didn't know what she was supposed to say to the child. “Jojo?” Nill called again, scared that Jojo wouldn't want him to. Jojo scratched her head. “I'm here, Nill,” she said. “Do you see anyone around?” Nill was silent as he looked around him. “Yes, I see a lady selling some snacks,” he said. Jojo nodded. “That's good,” she said. “I want you to go where she is and give her the phone. I want to talk to her.”

Joanna! Liliana never thought Joanna would ever walk free. She heard Joanna had gotten twenty years after going back to her country.
