The late afternoon light streamed in through the tall cabin windows, casting a golden glow over the room where strategy turned personal.
Cheyenne leaned back against Gunner’s chest on the couch, legs curled beneath her, arms crossed tight across her stomach. Jax sat cross-legged on the floor, Tora sprawled out beside him with her head on his lap, a half-eaten brownie in hand. Across from them, Tegan rested her chin on the table while Collin paced the rug in front of the fireplace.
“We need to teach her how to listen to the guardian, not just contain it,” Cheyenne said, brow furrowed.
