So, as she waited for her mother to come to take her home, she prayed in her heart that nothing should ever separate them. Jade. She heard her name and lifted her head off Shawn's shoulder. She turned her head around to see her mother. Marie stood smiling with her arms stretched out for a hug and her golden hair fluttering in the wind. She looked like an older version of Jade with only the hair color being the difference between them.

Seeing her like that filled me with pride. Later that evening, the house buzzed with warmth and laughter. Chase sat between Daniel and Mia, animatedly telling them about the “huge” bug he found in the yard earlier. James chimed in with exaggerated reactions, making Chase giggle so hard he nearly spilled his juice. Jade arrived a little later, her arm linked with a tall, kind-looking guy named Ryan. The way they looked at each other told me all I needed to know — Jade had found someone special. As I leaned back in my chair, watching everyone talk and laugh, I felt something stir inside me — peace. Real, genuine peace.

When it was over, Jade leaned back with a smile that practically glowed. “Good news, guys,” she said, her tone sing-song. “Good news?” I asked, my voice flat with exhaustion. “Yup!” She nodded eagerly. “So, I talked to your dad the other day. I told him we missed the movie because of your sudden hospitalization, and I begged him to give us another chance. I even showed him the three tickets I bought, and guess what?” She let out a squeal of excitement. “He agreed! He set a date for us to go—just the three of us—and we’ll have the whole cinema to ourselves!”

"I'll be there with you, and I didn't separate from you. I don't think anyone can tell you anything after what happened." Jhon's voice was very weak, he sounded very tired. Jade, who had known him for months, tried to understand him. The man in spite of everything gave her peace and tranquility just by being there supporting her. She felt it was a breakthrough to hear him talk and speak his mind. She tried to really enjoy the time she spent with him. Jade drove down to road while they left Florida. Just then, a beautiful looking girl with black, curly hair walked in. She was Ruby, Jade's closest cousin who he considers to be, sister. Apart from Kate, his adopted mother, Ruby is the other person in the family he loves to relate to. “Father, where's Jade?” She asked her dad, anxiously. “He just left.” Burke told his daughter. Disappointment plastered Ruby's face as she walked out. Although, Burke knew his daughter was so found of Jade. She would have just came earlier to meet him.

Beside him stood Andrew, Sarah, and Katherine, flanked Andrew on either side and then Maria. Jada's gaze swept over her family, and she couldn't help but notice the tension in the air. It was clear to her that this was not a casual family gathering but a confrontation, and Jada had been prepared for it. With measured steps, Jada approached the gathering, her expression calm and composed. She knew that her appearance alone would send shockwaves through the room. At twenty-six, she was the youngest member of the Hudson family, but her intelligence far surpassed her years, and now that her eyes had opened to the truth, her cunning only grew.

Which was now apparently. This year, Jared was the only one in the family who decided to visit the motherland. Jades pov. I jump in the shower and get ready. I’m not even sure if this is fancy or relaxed. I’m going with my normal. A grey oversized sweater and nice wide legged jeans with some slip on shoes. A few turquoises rings and necklace. My long black hair is so straight. Maybe a braid,I think to myself. let’s leave it down. I put on light make up. Just enough to make me not look tired and stressed. I look at the clock and have about a hour till dinner. I sit down and check on Wyatt and the ranch. Luckily everything going smooth.

"You're just too kind. We're so lucky to have you. You're the Moon Goddess' greatest gift to our family. Alright, we'll do as you say. Let's just focus on your recovery." The golden sunset poured through the healing center's windows, wrapping the four of them in warm light. Watching that perfect family scene, I felt like nothing more than an outsider. I was never a part of this family. I didn't belong in that warmth. I tried to speak, but no one could hear me. I wanted to run, but my soul was still bound to Mom. I could only watch in silence as they repeatedly shamed me.

Jade's eyes turned red at just the right moment, and she stubbornly lowered her head. Graham quickly put me down and cleared his throat. "I've treated Jade as my own daughter all these years. Why would I play favorites? Didn't Jade say she liked that two-million-dollar necklace the other day? It will arrive at our home today." Jade immediately broke into a cute smile and ran over to him. "Dad, you're the best! I thought you guys wouldn't care about me anymore after Mindy was born..." Graham patted her head in a caring manner. "My sweet girl, you'll always be mommy and daddy's little princess."
