I had less than two weeks before the full moon and another two weeks before I turned eighteen and could finally scent my mate. Jacob would also be celebrating his birthday in five days, and since this was going to be the first time that he had had a Luna on his birthday, he was throwing a big gala. He told me he hated parties, but he wanted to do this for Clair, and I found it really sweet.

The others stopped and looked at me waiting for an answer too. "It's passed. November 6th" I said. It's true. I had my birthday before I passed Dark Knight's territory. It is the 29th of November now. That's why the weather felt cooler than usual. The winter's coming up. "Too bad," Lucy said. "When are yours?" I asked the three of them. "29th of September," Ethan answered first. I nodded and waited for Jarred and Lucy to answer. "It's the 18th of October. Just 2 weeks after him" Jarred said. I was just about to reply to something when Lucy cut my words.

For running away with your baby and for bringing Paxton in here to take Jason away from me because I think he is a good man, and…" "Oh, now I see you know the truth", I cut her short and she nods. March 29th, 2011: Tuesday Spring ~~~~~~~~~~ There was still a chill in the air as Tony walked out of the bedroom, fully dressed. When his alarm had gone off, he had just assumed it was another work day until he got out of the shower. That was right, it was his twenty-first birthday today. The owner of the shop, old man Jace, always gave the employees their birthdays off. It was actually mandatory, and the smarmy, old codger would get really upset if someone came into work on their birthday. He was a nice guy, but strange in many ways.

“The celebration has just started. At least stay a little longer.” Alpha Jake shook his head. His face looked pale, his jaw tight. “I’m not feeling well. I don’t want to ruin the night.” I stepped forward quickly. “Alpha Jake—Jake—please,” I said, lowering my voice. “It’s my father’s birthday. Just a few more minutes.” He looked at me. Really looked at me. And for a second, I hoped. I hoped the oil had somehow worked. I hoped I could still win. But his eyes were empty.
