There was pure darkness wherever she was that seemed to seep into her eyes. There was something sick . . . putrid . . . vile maybe, floating through the air. She didn't need to see it. She could feel it, and it made her soul cringe. She started to stand, but was smashed to the floor by some . . . thing. Her chest ached and she was sure her nose was beginning to bleed.

Ever since I was little and first read Jane Eyre, I've wanted to have my own window seat, just like Jane's, a place to read and hide away from the real world. Jane had just arrived at Lowood when all of a sudden the curtains were parted and Clive sat down next to me. My legs were bent, and I started to straighten up, but Clive patted my knee, letting me know that everything was in order. He left his hand on my leg and looked around. "So you like it?"

So when she met the maid's sharp, feline eyes now, slicing toward her like thrown daggers, Jane felt a familiar knot tighten in her stomach. This was not a good sign. Her first day had already been a disaster. Captured by the young master of the house, who turned out to be a vampire of all things. Fainting like a fool. Waking only to discover she was now on the way to be punished for it. And now, to make it even worse, she had gained the hatred of a maid she did not even know.

I woke up confused. Where the heck in crusty tomato am I? My neck ached and I let out a moan of pain, as I stretched my arms behind my back and rubbed my neck to soothe the slight strain and ache. Groggily looking around, I blinked to clear my hazy disoriented vision to see I had slept on the floor, the book I was reading last night still in my hand, and no sign of Elijah. I glanced at the alarm clock and my eyes widen when I saw it was 11 in the morning. Omg!

And what did it want from them? As they approached, they saw that it was a young girl, her eyes filled with deep sadness and longing. She reached out to them, her hands trembling with desperation. "Please," she whispered. "Help me. The Lady is coming for me too." Eddie and Millie looked at each other in confusion. Who was this girl? And what did she mean by the Lady? As they hesitated, unsure what to do, the girl's eyes locked onto theirs. And in that moment, they knew their lives would never be the same again.

Chapter 14: I met 'her' I opened my eyes to see a lady in a pure white dress staring off in a distance. Her long wavy hair fluttered in the wind. As I was staring at her unrivaled beauty, she turned her head to me. Her brown eyes were staring into mine. [We finally met.] "Who are… you?" I asked her which in response, she smiled at me a little forced. She then walked towards me, or more like floated towards me. She looked like a ghost, not gonna lie.

Bloody hell, my body was held by the cold gaze of his blue sea-colored eyes. With long steps, he was coming towards me, and in a flash of a second, he was in front of me. He grabbed my hair and made me look into his eyes. My eyes were closed, afraid of meeting his cold stare. The next words from his mouth made my eyes shoot open. "Who was the man whom you were laughing and talking with? Answer me, Jane. Who was he?”, he shouted in an angry voice.

He said and I stared at his lips. They were full and inviting, curved into a slight smile. I didn’t know what to say. I was just there, looking at him. “I know it may be hard for you, as you’ve just met me once for the first time in your life. But trust me, Jane, I have been noticing you almost all my life. Almost for the past so many years, I’ve been noticing you.

It was the kind of small calculation a man made when he had been working out for three days how to walk into a room with a thing in his hand that would change the shape of the woman in the room. He had been working on it. I let myself notice that he had been working on it. I opened the book. The first page was a daguerreotype. A woman. Standing in front of a tall window. Hands folded at her waist. The kind of dress that had not been made in this part of the continent for sixty years. Her hair was pulled severely back from her temples. She was not smiling. She had my face.

The words, ‘Property of Ismene’s Library’, were stamped on the very first page. I jumped right in, reading about a seemingly ordinary girl thrust into a strange game of magic, trickery, and mayhem. She’d just boarded a train to some far away land when my eyes began to grow heavy. I continued skimming the book, but the words became choppy as my exhaustion grew. The girl had taken some potion that sent her spiraling into a magic-induced dream. My eyes fell shut as she plummeted off a cliffside, only to snap open when Draco entered the room.
