Something was definitely wrong,she concluded. "What's wrong with you young man!" One of the lecturers in charge shouted when Cody missed his part again. "If you do not want to be part of this team, then leave. I never even wanted you to be part of the team, but Mrs. Ekoro insisted." The bald headed man said again in anger. Cody who seemed to have kept his cool for a long time flared up. He shouted at the man, and attempted to hit him, but then he was stopped by Mrs. Ekoro.

I don’t know who this person is, but he or she is pissing me off. Thankfully it is Friday, and I can be home for the next two days. I talked with Doug the day after our meeting and asked about a guard for Everly. He thought that was a good idea. He told me that he had the perfect guy and would call me back after talking with him. I am guessing that if this is one of his friends or a guy who works for him, he knows Everly and will agree without hesitation. The guy that Doug sent started yesterday. His name is Giovanni, or Gio for short. He and Everly seem to get along ok so far. I was concerned, considering he is only 25, but Doug told me that there is no one he trusts more than Gio.

I smiled, darkly The one who was on the chair had his head bowed was not shivering like the others; he was holding on to his dignity even in the face of possible death. “What is your name?” I asked, approaching him “Mario, Jefe” he said, his eyes meeting mine “You were in charge of manning the CCTV room yester night, Mario” I said “Yes I was, we all were” My fist cracked against the side of his head, sending his neck snapping back “Speak for yourself, Mario” I growled… “I will ask again; were you in charge of manning the room yesterday?”

She said and spun on her heel. I couldn't hold the smile that erupted on my face, "Thank you, Trish." There were mostly women on our staff. His jaw tightened. His cold gaze turned to me. "Please, have a seat. Don't mind. We're protective toward each other," Aerial said. I knew she was holding her tongue. But her frightening look unsettled me. He held out his hand, "Marcus Valentino. You must have heard about me." he asked "Aerial, Yes. The king of construction. Recently... is interested in buying property." She shook her hand.

Like even he knew that at any moment things could turn. I felt the moment Rafael saw him. The energy in the room shifted and thickening like a storm rolling in. At the far end of the club and seated on an elevated section with a few other men was the Capo dei Capi. The boss of all bosses. The man who held power over this entire empire. I heard they cal him king maker.

“Who are you?” They exchanged glances but said nothing. “Well, look at these tough guys. A couple of knocks and I bet they’ll talk,” said Tristo, his baby face making the cold remark even more unsettling. Jay gave the order: “Watch them closely. For now, finding the boss takes priority.” “Yes, sir.” As the men were taken away, Tristo grinned at Jay. “So you're a captain, huh? Who is your CEO exactly?” Jay: “...” “What do you mean? He’s just the head of the Knox family.”

I don't want to conclude yet, but my guts are never wrong. This man, my boss. Javan Torres. He is fucking creepy.

-ADRIAN POV- I've built my career on the principle that control is everything. It's the only thing that separates the people who succeed from the people who get swept away by circumstance and emotion. Control is knowing exactly what will happen before it happens. Control is building systems that work regardless of external chaos. Control is keeping the world at arm's length so nothing can touch what I've carefully constructed. Mona followed, hopping down carefully this time without needing help, though her lips curved slightly like she had considered asking again just to see him react. He paused for a minute then sighed. “Dillion was going through the files we brought from Mendoza’s compound and found out who his dealer is.” I waited for him to tell me. “Well, who the fuck is it?” He took a deep breath. “It is Joseph King, the leader of the Suicide Kings.” I inhaled deeply and then let it out slowly. The Suicide Kings were the only gang in New York that was bigger than ours. Joseph King was a badass and I realized that I may have just made a deal with the devil.
