I don’t like seeing you with another wolf.” Smiling at his words, relieved that had been what had bothered Alastor she nodded at him and getting on her toes she kissed him, “Just give me a few minutes.” Once again Jeivel was surprised by the vicious pride overflowing from the two and for a moment he wondered if he had wrongly judged her. Shifting into his wolf he howled out a battle cry to let everyone know what was happening and Vevina saw the wolf standing before her to be of a brown color but with a smaller build than her mate.

Some of them did not even stop at the red light – they pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, as if blessed with immortality. "It was Dr. Monroe who told me to get the medication. She said it was this one. It's all my fault for being too stupid and trusting her. It's all my fault…" Jeremy's eyes burned with hatred as he glared at me. "How dare you call yourself a medical expert? My father is dead because of you! I swear I'll make sure you rot in prison!" Without another word, Jeremy called the police. Soon, several patrol cars arrived at the hospital entrance. As officers prepared to take me away for investigation, I looked at Lindsey and Michael with a sorrowful, almost pitying expression.

"That scar has to be fake! You just want me to be your scapegoat! You're jealous because Mom and Dad always loved me more, so now you're scheming to get me killed." Seeing Emma crying in his arms, Noah grabbed me by the hair and dragged me in front of her, forcing me to confess. "Anna, you were the killer, yet you have the nerve to frame Emma. You evil woman! Apologize to Emma! Maybe then I'll put in a good word with the cops!" Noah's grip was strong, causing my scalp to ache terribly, but it couldn't compare to the pain of being slashed to death in my previous life. I looked up at the two of them viciously, laughing in exasperation.

Jeff visited, his face full of concern, looking for a shred of truth he could print. "I got into the car, Jeff. I was driving, everything was fine. Then, suddenly, the car just... stopped obeying me. It was like a ghost took the wheel. The next thing I knew, the world was upside down," I told him, clutching the thin hospital blanket. "I wasn't drunk. Why would I kill myself when I’m this close to proving everything? I have a legacy to claim.”

“When Jeffery challenged you. I was hiding in your office while you and dad discussed options.” His face falls. “You heard that discussion.” “Every word. You were not going to fight. You were going to step down. I was afraid you would leave us. Then I saw the fight and you were growling and the way you held him by the throat. One handed you held him of the ground and threw him like a ball.” “I don’t like to kill sweetheart. Not anyone especially family. I’m not a killer.” “You killed today.” “Actually, no, Kendall, Alex and Jacob killed today, I passed judgement and they carried the sentence out.”

He had been a promising kid, fast with a blade and loyal to a fault. Now, he was a corpse. In a bid to humiliate him, they sat his body upright, his head lolling back against the chair, his eyes wide and vacant, staring at nothing. "My God, Uncle. Look at his chest," Nathaniel whispered. “I-I’m sorry. I can’t tell you.” Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Jeffrey sneaking up on the gunman. I just needed to keep him distracted for a little longer. “Yes, you can. You’re going to kill me anyway, right? I deserve to know who wants me dead.” The man growled in frustration and ran his free hand through his hair. “You don’t understand!” Just as the homeless werewolf cocked his gun, Jeffrey pounced on him. He pinned the other man’s arms down with his legs and ripped the pistol out of his hand, throwing it far out of his reach.
