Bryan stepped in front of me, his hand on his pistol. "He’s another code, Hazel. Don’t listen to him." The Reader laughed. It was a dry, thin sound. "A copy thinks he has a choice. How cute."

Jim had been looking after her ever since. Daniel Smith, on the other hand, was Jim's childhood friend. Hearing that they were fighting left Jim completely drained. "Sorry, I need to head back and deal with this," Jim said politely to Hayley. "Okay. By the way, what's your name?" Hayley asked. Jim smiled faintly. "I'm Jim." Jim! Hayley's gaze sharpened instantly. No way. Could this be Lone Wolf Jim from the Ten Toughest People list? The Ten Toughest People was a widely recognized ranking in the apocalypse, made up of individuals who had pulled off unbelievable feats and carved out legends for themselves.

“You have evil plans against me in the future.” Draymond shrugged. “Allow the future take care of itself. Live in the present for now, boy. You have the big opening. You can become a Sentinel today.” “So you think I should kill Jimin?” Xavier said, turning the book in his hands. “I didn’t say you should do anything,” Draymond frowned. “I just gave you the book that would best suit what you need to do right now.” Xavier turned the book over in his hands searching for a name. “This book was written by….” He turned the book around looking for the author’s name and he finally found it.

Chapter 2 Mr. Harris sat at the front desk grading papers. The clock ticked louder now. Every second felt heavy. Emily kept her eyes on her notebook but the words would not stay still. Her heart was still racing from what Jax just did. Her panties felt sticky and warm against her skin. Every time she shifted in her seat the wet fabric rubbed her clit and sent a small spark through her body.

Sometime later, I jerk awake. It’s still dark outside, but a small, dim light emanates from the other bed. Huxley is lying there, the duvet pulled up to his waist, bare-chested, one arm tucked under his head, reading on his Kindle. I hadn’t heard him come in. How long has he been there? I can’t hear any music, so the party has obviously come to an end. For a while, I don’t move, afraid of breaking the spell. I let my gaze linger on him, on his muscular arms, and his handsome face, lit by the Kindle. An ache begins, deep in my heart. Why does everything have to be so complicated?
