'Open it. Look. It's blank. Every single page. Blank! ' He raised his fist to strike Ethan again, but Juliette quickly grabbed his wrist and held him back.

‘And don’t show your face to me again unless I asked for it. Juliette Lux, defeated, finally, swayed a little—the last bit of her dramatic act—and quietly sat on the couch. Finally, she read the documents. But then, all of a sudden, she gave up, picked up the pen and scrawled across the dotted line. She stayed away from them all, refusing to answer her phone or the door she told her Guards to refuse access to everyone. She cried a lot, she felt betrayed by them

“Oh please. Don’t act innocent.” My eyes narrowed into slits. Was she being serious right now? “You wiped my laptop.” “You really don’t get it, do you?” she snapped, her voice low but vibrating with fury. “You walk in here, all wide-eyed and competent and perfect, and suddenly everything I’ve been working toward starts slipping through my fingers.” I frowned, genuinely thrown. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about.” She let out a humorless laugh. “Don’t insult me by pretending you don’t know. Julian.” She spat. “You latched onto him the second you got here. Played the good girl. The reliable one. The special one.”
