The head of the orphanage found me in the middle of the scorching summer, which was why he named me Theros Sommar. When Daisy learned of it, she then said that moving forward, the summer solstice every year would be my birthday. She then prepared birthday gifts for me and even baked a birthday cake for me to celebrate. Ever since my gastric bleeding the other day, she had forbidden me from drinking again. But the mood back then had been just right, so I pestered her until she gave in and allowed me to drink some red wine. One thing led to another, and that night, she finally gave herself wholly to me.

Let me back track though, we'll start at the beginning. My name is Katherine Hudson but my friends all call me Kitty. I started as a fairly normal 15 year old. I grew up in a small town in Indiana right near Lake Michigan. We lived a couple hours from Chicago. I lived near the woods and spent most of my weekends camping out there when I was in middle school, a fact that has saved my life more than once. I was considered kinda nerdy in middle school but things were changing since I started high school. I made the freshman cheer squad and had made friends with some of the popular kids. I still loved my old nerd friends though.

Summer burst into the kitchen, her hair bouncing around her face, completely oblivious to the war happening between the adults in the room. "Mommy! Mommy!" she chirped, running straight past Eli without even looking at him and grabbing the edge of my jeans. "The big doggie in the backyard let me touch his ears. Uncle Marcus said his name is Skippy. Skippy is my new best friend forever. He has a very fluffy tail." Marcus's laughter at Summer's words shattered the awkward silence. He stepped forward, scooping Summer up into his massive arms with an ease that made her squeal with delight. "Oh, really? Skippy is your best friend now? I thought I was your best friend, kiddo."
