Secara beruntun letusan gunung berapi menenggelamkan setengah dari pulau Jawa bagian barat. Pulau Jawa hanya tersisa hamparan tanah gersang dari sisa-sisa luapan lumpur Lapindo dan debu vulkanik letusan gunung berapi. Peradaban lama telah musnah, kehidupan baru pun tercipta. Sludge City, sebuah kota yang berdiri diatas dataran tandus itu. Dimana air bersih dan oksigen menjadi sesuatu yang sangat berharga.
