I could feel how Roxanne let go of my grasp and waltzed away from me. After Roxanne went into her room, I stayed on the sofa in the living room, waiting for Roxanne to fall asleep. As an Alpha King, I naturally have some special powers. My sense of hearing is so sensitive that I can sense sounds from a long distance away. And what I did to make sure Roxanne was asleep was to listen to her breathing. Sensing that Roxanne's breathing had calmed down and stabilized I was able to confirm that Roxanne had fallen asleep this time.

They didn’t deserve their pack, but if anything, they had a good heir. Roan, their firstborn son, was currently out of the country. He was a year younger than me, but we had attended Alpha training together, and just by the time I spent with him, I knew he was nothing like his father, mother, or even Alice. As Dad said, he believed Roan was more like Alpha Drake, Luna Renee’s father. Alpha Drake was a man of few words, but definitely a good Alpha. And I hoped Dad and I were right about Roan because as much as I hated his parents, I hoped the Moon Lake Pack would be turned over to a righteous Alpha.

I get it he wants me to work out the rogue king problems with Cato but how is that possible when he ignores everything I suggest? Ugh, why does everything have to be so difficult? Why can’t for once in my life something be easy? A sharp tightening pain in my chest hits so sudden it brings me to my knees. ….. My Beta, my younger brother Eben, tries to step forth, but I just wave my hand, telling him to let them continue. Finally. Something exciting. But they are already bleeding. I suppress a groan, and the bubbling excitement crashes. “ Hey, Joanna’s mate. I think you have had enough. Get off Roanna and be on your way. If the girl doesn’t consent to being with you, you should stop chasing her. ” I clap my hands, and Eben steps forth to pull them apart. “ Roan, Alpha. I am Roan. ” The bleeding warrior staggers and explains.

The only thing that Roan was missing was an eye patch to really give the bad guy vibes. “I was about to implement my second phase of the takeover,” Roan walked in front of his men. He brought easily two dozen men to back him up. “Then lo and behold, one of my men comes back and presents me with a lovely note from the Alpha of the Mountain Creek Pack.” He stopped in front of us and gave a smile. “Are you ready to surrender, so easily?” I waited a moment for Malachi to respond, but he didn’t. “Fuck no,” I said for him.

KING ROAN HIS POV, Roan takes a deep sigh after Noelle just stormed out of his office. That conversation definitely didn't go the way he wanted it to go. Somewhere he had hoped that she would be okay with doing the ceremony with him. It wouldn't have been the most romantic way but still, it was an honor to be picked. If only that damn attack didn't happen. His blood begins to boil again by just thinking about it. Hella is really pushing her boundaries, but then again what can he do against someone so powerful as her. And it certainly would not do his people any good.

That same amused, predatory, interested expression stretched across his annoying face. He was those type of handsome men that knew they were handsome and would do anything they wanted because to them their being hot was enough reason to. I gave him a disgusted look. "Well if you're busy I'll wait for you outside" I started to say Before I could turn around and leave the room, Vara waved her hand. “Leon,” she said. “You should met Roan, He's the alpha of the Bridgewood pack. The youngest acting alpha.” Roan stood, walked toward me, and smiled, a lazy, confident smile that said he wasn’t intimidated by anything.

Act untouched, like you’re soaring above the mess,” Roan advised, his grip firm on the device. “Lame,” Kingsley sighed, deflating. “Fun’s right here. Spot anyone intriguing?” Roan scanned the crowd. “Nah, no random flings,” Kingsley shook his head, downing another shot with a wince. “Unless said random towers at 6’3, dark locks, jaw like a blade… Built like ancient marble, voice that just… melts…”
