And so, they headed out together, to see the lanterns. The breeze by the river was a bit chilly, messing up her hair. She tucked it behind her ears, which were filled with the innocent voices of children. "Mommy, this lantern is shaped like a panda, it’s so cute!" "Mommy, this one is a giraffe." "And this one is a lion." Scarlett couldn't help but admire the lanterns. Suddenly, a child running too fast didn't see where he was going and bumped into Scarlett's leg. He had learned early on that Lune was sensitive to many things, and he wanted to be the rock she could lean on during this transformative journey. Arlo started by creating a safe and nurturing environment at their home. He transformed a corner of their shared bedroom into a cozy nursery, painting the walls in soft, calming colors. He chose gentle pastels that would evoke a sense of tranquility, far removed from the turmoil they had both faced. Arlo spent hours assembling the crib, meticulously following the instructions, and testing each component to ensure it was secure and safe. It was an act of love, a physical manifestation of his dedication to Lune and their child.

For someone who was stuck in the same room as the Lycan King and the Wolf Mother, she did not appear to be in distress. Lyra had thought that Valeria’s magical beasts were her ultimate weapon. Now, she realised maybe they weren’t. “I recognise the lamp,” Julian informed her through their mindlink. “It’s the Black Lantern. It’s an artefact that’s used to source dark power from the netherworld and channel it to its user. A witch found it many centuries ago and used it to create chaos all over the world, not just among werewolves. Fortunately, a Wolf Mother appeared at the time and sealed it. Since then, the lantern disappeared.”

The pendant, a wolf covered in diamonds, and two sapphires for eyes. I have never seen anything like it before. “The almighty Zeus has also sent you a gift but remember my love, this one is very special. You must wear it all the time, this bracelet will keep you hidden from your uncle Hades.” “Wait, I thought I was already hidden from him?”

" Whoaaah! Wow!" Liana walked around touching each lantern as she passed, checking the name engraved over it. She stopped when she reached the one that read Draco's name. The moment she touched it, she thought she saw it flicker. She turned towards the hooded lady to confirm. " Careful, " that was the word she uttered. " Why? Did I do anything wrong? " Liana immediately moved away, afraid she might have done something offensive. " These are Life Lanterns. It is connected to it's owner's soul. It reacts ... "

The entire pack freezes where they are, then I add "We are not going to panic, Warriors, I want all of the shift leaders listen up, we need candles. As many as you can find, matches or lighters to light them, and if you can find them we need the lanterns also." Miss Frankie speaks up letting them know where to find the items I asked for, then the warriors carefully make their way to the doors. It takes them about 30 minutes to return with the candles, they have a couple of the lanterns already lit, they place one lantern in the center of each table, then they pass out candles. I cross-questioned, feeling despondent hearing what she told me. Layla averted her gaze and looked at the ceiling of the hall. “Lantern means weak wolves who need time to shift thus your chances of survival after rejection are too low to even consider the idea. And your weak wolf is the reason behind your fainting, too. Whenever any changes happen in your body, your wolf isn’t able to bear it.” “What’s the solution, then?” I asked annoyingly, neglecting the pain in my chest which started like a fog.

The warmth of his skin burned my system, making me feel alive. “We're not riding your monster of a bike?” I asked when we began to walk. He shook his head and glanced at my direction. “It's just you and me tonight.” And that was enough to say that I was captivated by him. I barely know him yet he managed to sweep me off of my feet. We enjoyed the cool breeze of the night and the simple conversation we had along the way. Unlike the other two clubs I've been in the previous nights, this one was not loud and jampacked. The purple neon lights read Sphere and there was no long line of people waiting to have their turn inside. True to his words, we'll definitely have the night to ourselves.
