Lights Out Book Review Novels & Stories

I looked up at the tangled shadows in Darren's room and could not help but laugh. I would not be a fool any longer. I was not sticking around. The wolf inside me would not hurt anymore.

And then he was gone, the curtain settling behind him, and the ward was quiet again. I lay back against the pillow. The board book was still in my hands. I turned it over once, the worn corners, the soft spine, a lighthouse on the cover belonging to a man who had built an empire and thought to bring a child’s book to a hospital because it seemed like the right thing. I pressed it gently to my stomach. “You’re going to like him,” I said quietly. Outside the ward window the city lights were coming on one by one, the way they always did, without asking, without ceremony, just arriving because the dark had come and that was what lights did.

She looked pampered and polished and expensive, like a trophy on display. "There's a book on the nightstand," Lena said quietly as the others began packing up their supplies. "The boss thought you might want something to read while you wait." I walked back to the bedroom on legs that felt like they belonged to someone else. The book was waiting for me on the nightstand, a novel I had never heard of with a cover that showed a woman standing at the edge of a cliff, looking out at a stormy sea. I picked it up and settled into the chair by the window, the silk of my dress rustling against the upholstery.

Thoughts ring in my head, as if someone nearby is speaking in a distinct whisper. - You have to get up, you have to get up. Write down, no more minute. And to hell with everything . It's night now , but who needs it at all. No, no, I'm getting up . Three , it will be too late. A hand fumbles over the nightstand next to the bed. I looked out over the night view, where even the dimmest stars held a faint trace of light. Then, I turned and stepped back inside, closing the door behind me. In that moment, I felt a stillness I had never known. Everything in the past had finally fallen with the stars into endless darkness. And ahead of me, there lay countless possibilities that I could explore one by one.

I relished so many foods that I ended up eating more than my stomach could handle. I felt stuffed while walking to my bedroom. By substituting the brighter lighting of the room with the night lamp, I created an inadvertently peaceful and soothing ambiance within the room. It appeared that I was going to have a wonderful night's sleep. As I approached the bed, my attention fell on the room to the left of my window and I noticed Darsh in his night robe, reading a book near his window. "He is so boring. How could he always carry that nonchalant expression?"

The next day, Nadir woke up in the early morning. The sun was breaking through the slits in the louvers, filling the entire living room with its rays. - I don't think I'll ever get used to it.- she said to herself, rubbing eyes lightly with her hand.

And this is how the last story about Light and Darkness that I wanted to present to you ends. It was certainly an extraordinary journey, showing different stories, but at the same time touching the same topic - can two such opposing poles as Light and Darkness connect at some point? I'll leave it to your own choice, but one thing is for sure - as Miyuki said in Book 4, wanting to stop the battle between vampires and wizards - Light and Darkness certainly couldn't exist without each other. If there was only Light but no Darkness, what would be its meaning? Likewise, if there was only Darkness in the world, wouldn't its existence be pointless without trying to "devour" the Light?
