When she noticed us, she shifted her look calmly toward mine. Too calm. Far too calm for someone her age. I knelt on one knee beside her. “Lily.” She blinked slowly. “Garrick has Kael.” No reaction. “He wants to trade him.” Still nothing. Then her eyes drifted back toward the distant mountains. “The false bridge keeps breaking paths that should remain separate.” I felt a chill down my spine. Rohan exchanged a glance with me. “What does that mean?” I asked. “Please.” Lily was quiet for several seconds.

“But you can’t just tie me up here in this warehouse either!” “And who said I will just tie you up?” Lily said coldly. “You being alive will spoil my plans of getting married to him. And even if I succeed, you being alive will make it impossible for me to live happily with him.” “So… so what?” Ivy asked, fear filling her eyes. Lily looked at her, smiled faintly, then walked to one corner of the warehouse. She pulled out a big bottle of petrol and removed a lighter from her bag before walking back toward Ivy.

Lily took a deep breath and carried her skirt to the swimming pool to enjoy the scenery while waiting for her brother to go. When Lily heard a disturbance, she was staring blankly at the lake. When she looked back, she noticed a red figure approaching her side. If it weren't for her eyes, the other party's attire would have appeared to be identical to the one she was wearing. Their struggle seemed to go on forever, both of their hands shaking, until finally, Caitlin squeezed as hard as she could, and got Lily to drop the knife. Lily leaned her head back and roared, as if trying to exorcise the demon within her. Suddenly, Lily turned and sprinted across the room. She headed right for the huge stained-glass windows, and without pausing, leapt right through them, glass shattering everywhere. Caitlin watched as Lily flew out into the night, her huge wings flapping, flying as fast as she could to get away from this place. “She disappointed me," came a dark, guttural voice.

Lily placed her elbow on the table and said, "I am telling you all of this just to bring to your notice that you cannot cross any of the pack's borders because these packs might report you back to us!" Skyla's hand went to her chest and she said incredulously, "What?! I am caught from every bloody direction!" Her voice went quaky as she added, "What can I do, Lily? It's check-and-mate!" Lily shook her head and said, "Not exactly!" She dropped her gaze at the map and Skyla followed. Running her index finger slowly, she said, "See this south-western border! You can take this route and it will lead you to the Moon Shine Pack!"

Dora stirred within her. “We shouldn’t be alone, Lily.” “We’ve always been alone,” Lily whispered back. “We just didn’t know it.” The moon broke through the clouds as she reached a clearing. I checked the bed and then noticed a small paper had fallen off the side of the bed. “Just in case you wake up in the middle of the night and I am not there. Can’t sleep so I am going for a run. Be back soon. I love you. Lily” So she went for a run, but why didn’t she come back and why wasn’t she answering?
