Little Nightmares Chapter 3 Novels & Stories

Heyyy it's literally 3am here and I just woke up from a nightmare. Can't get back to sleep so I figured I'd work on this chapter instead. What time is it where you're reading this? Sometimes I wonder if anyone else is up at these weird hours reading while the rest of the world is asleep. Anyway, back to trying to calm my brain down enough to sleep... or maybe I'll just keep writing till sunrise. We'll see! 😴

For a moment, the room feels heavy, and then finally, his voice breaks through the silence. “I’ve been having nightmares,” he whispers, his small voice cracking. “About the scary lady we met at the amusement park. She was really mean, Mommy. She… she kicked away my stuffed bunny. I was so scared, and ever since then, I keep dreaming about her.” His eyes finally lift, locking onto mine. The fear swimming in them is raw, tangible, and it hits me like a punch to the chest. My heart skips a beat, and I can feel the tightness in my throat.

With a deep breath, I knocked, the sound echoing through the silence like a hesitant plea for sanctuary. Frantically, I pounded on the door, each rap a plea for someone to answer. The silence that met my desperate knocks sent shivers down my spine. Fear took hold, urging me to seek the king's presence. Determined, I made my way to the throne room, a foreboding weight settling over me. As I reached the summit of the staircase, a sight that mirrored the haunting imagery from my nightmare unfolded before me. The king, Liam, and the elders emerged from the throne room, their collective presence a stark reminder of the nightmarish vision that had plagued my sleep.

“Every shadow makes me jump. I see Victoria in every corridor, every corner of my mind.” He writes something, then lifts his eyes. “Tell me about the nightmares. How do they happen?” I close my eyes, reliving scenes that torment me night after night. “It all starts in my old bedroom at my father’s house. I hear footsteps in the hallway. I know it’s Victoria, but I can’t move, I’m stuck. Then…” my voice falters. “Then it’s not me in bed anymore. It’s Oliver and Noah.” “And what happens next?”

The very core of me feeling emptier as the seconds go by. I remember that feeling, the soul sucking emptiness that surfaces my own memory. A memory of laying under Damian as he fed from me. I wake with a jolt, sitting up in the bed to find the room drenched in complete darkness, Lora is fussing in the crib so I collect her only to lay back on the pillows. I feed her as I think over the nightmare I had just surfaced from. There, Lil! Abyss shouts. Look at your daughters neck, she demands.

I've received no answer, which means that she stills on the plane. I was feeling exhausted. I didn't sleep for more than a day. Just as I close my eyes, all sorts of scary nightmares started hunting me. In one nightmare, my mother steal Malea, and another one the two girls played around the white rose, then the dark smoke stole Malea. Last but of course not least, Keyla runs off with girls. I woke up terrified from my last nightmare, then kept delaying Keyla's number again, and again, until she answers. Only then I started feeling less worried.
