His gaze wandered down my body, still bare beneath his crumpled sheets, and lingered there like he was carving another memory to stow away for later. I pushed myself up on my elbows, tucking the sheet under my arms in some pathetic attempt at modesty. “Oh, loads,” I drawled, deadpan. “Definitely one for the scrapbook. Right next to the time I stepped on a rusty nail and almost lost a toe.” Logan’s laughter cracked through the silence, rich and warm and infuriating. “That right there,” he said, pointing at me with his glass, “is another thing I like about you.”

Best if he spared her the pain of witnessing it. Lennox stormed out of the blacksmith shop, clearly aware that he was too late. Brock stepped out of the doorway of the stables. Jonathan St. Laurent, one of Lennox's friends, was the first to see him. He whistled sharply with his fingers, drawing the attention of the others. Within seconds, Brock was surrounded by the League of Rogues. "Youbloody bastard!" Lennox bellowed and dove at Brock, slamming him against the outside wall of the stable. He grunted as the air was forced from his lungs. Brock was beginning to wonder if every encounter with Lennox was going to end in a fight from now on.

Logan suggested. Continuing their conversation, Logan eventually says, “I have to leave now; you know my yearly routine.” William said, "Remember, Dad, you need to be careful; you're not getting any younger." "With age comes wisdom," Logan chuckled. “Even though I'm getting older, William, I'm more than capable of giving you a sound beating.” Logan repeated his chuckling. Indeed, Logan is a well-built 6’2 for his age. His long hair was mostly black, with some gray highlights. Those once glowing, beautiful light gray eyes. With each thought of Dawn, his eyes become a little sadder and darker in shade.

Overcome by an unusual shyness, Logan began to speak quickly: “Well, Carla must be transformed and running around. I can show you around the house, or try to offer you something to drink, or eat, if you're hungry.” Lola found her companion's nervousness adorable. She approached him slowly, revealing a captivating smile, and gently kissed Logan on the lips. He stared at her, initially surprised and startled, but soon his eyes filled with desire. Logan didn't hesitate and kissed her passionately, losing himself in the exchange of caresses and the intensity of the moment.

Let’s get out and introduce you to Landon.” Logan gets out of the car while I try my hardest not to hyperventilate. After three deep breaths, I take his hand and climb out behind him.

"One tip for you, don't get distracted." I sighed, and said, “Shoot me, then.” “Oh, where do you want me to shoot you, my love?” He teased me. Luca pulled out his gun and yelled, "Enough!" then glanced at Logan, "Logan, you've already gotten even. Get out of here, cabrón!" Logan emptied the revolver in front of me and placed it in my hand, saying, "Oh, you got a very bad teacher. Give me a ring if you want some lessons." With a smile on his face, he winked at me and left the Villa.

“You’ve earned it.” Before I could respond, someone handed me a drink—a strong, spiced concoction that burned pleasantly as it went down. I relaxed a little, letting the warmth of the moment seep into me. For once, it felt good to celebrate. The music started a few minutes later, a lively tune played on a battered guitar that someone had managed to salvage. A few of the rogues began dancing, their movements wild and free. I shook my head, laughing at their antics. “I didn’t know we had such talented dancers in the group.”

Each beat of the melody felt like a slap, an insult she could not ignore. Anna steps quickened. He had gone too far this time. The heavy double doors burst open, slamming against the walls with a force that sent a shudder through the grand hall. Anna staggered forward, her chest rising and falling in frantic heaves. A name formed on her lips—a desperate, broken syllable.“Lo..gaan…” But the sight before her ripped the air from her lungs. Under the glow of the chandeliers, Logan knelt on one knee, a velvet box open in his hands.

The hunger for revenge devoured Logan's sanity. His eyes locked onto a vase on the table. Before he could think, he'd already swung it with full force into Joann's skull. "You murdered my daughter!" he screamed. "You don't deserve to breathe!" Blood burst from the wound as Joann collapsed to the floor, coughing up a mouthful of blood. She pleaded weakly, "Cough… Logan, I was wrong. Please… please let me go. Lily's gone... but we still have Gracie... I can give you a son... please..."
