(Logan’s POV) The cold air of the Titan practice rink was supposed to be a reset button. Out here, under the harsh white lights, I was Logan Cross, the million-dollar asset, the injured star focused on his recovery. I was not the terrified prisoner who had shattered a glass tumbler with a thoughtless grip, nor the complicated mess who spent his nights burning off rage with the man he was supposed to hate.

This isnt going to be a good talk. Logan get up from his chair walks to me and places his hand at the small of my back and it sends me chills. We walk to his chair and he has me sit on his lap with his hand s on my waist. "I asked everone here because we have important matters to discuss. As you all know rogues have been trying to get into our territory. The guards captured a rogue today and they found a letter that dropped from his pocket." he pulls the letter out and starts reading it to everyone.

“You’ve earned it.” Before I could respond, someone handed me a drink—a strong, spiced concoction that burned pleasantly as it went down. I relaxed a little, letting the warmth of the moment seep into me. For once, it felt good to celebrate. The music started a few minutes later, a lively tune played on a battered guitar that someone had managed to salvage. A few of the rogues began dancing, their movements wild and free. I shook my head, laughing at their antics. “I didn’t know we had such talented dancers in the group.”

“Logan Matthews has demanded a challenge for the leadership, he has around six or so wolves on his side” “Well then, we don't want to keep him waiting”. Interlocking my fingers and pushing them outwards my knuckles cracked loudly. The lobby was crowded with people as we made our way through to the car park, Jumping on our bikes, the engines roared as we headed home. Time to make this pack remember who was in charge I thought to myself as I tore down the road.

Andre, “I don’t know but something big is happening! I can feel it!” Evan, “please just chill, I don’t need this shit today!” I opened the door to the diner and her smell hit me first! The most amazing smell of dark chocolate coffee hit me and almost knocked me backward. The second thing I sensed is she is a rouge! What the hell is happening? How did I walk into the only restaurant that had a fucking rogue working there? I scanned the room until I locked eyes with the most beautiful woman I had ever seen in my life. But she was a rogue!

*** ‘Sir, as you ordered, I drove Miss Jansen back to the office,’ Terence reported, entering the manor. He found Logan standing by the window, a cigarette between his slender fingers, exhaling wisps of smoke. Logan remained silent, his gaze fixed on the blooming garden outside. Terence stood still, waiting for instructions. After what felt like an eternity, Logan broke the silence with a question. ‘Terence, do you think I’m attractive?’ The usually eloquent assistant, caught entirely off guard, stammered out a reply, ‘Um, I-I’m s-sure you are very handsome, sir, but I—’

I heard him say as my attention darted back to Ghost, shocked to notice my dog walking to Logan and give his hand a few licks before going back over the rug and curling himself into a ball, letting out a sigh as he closed his eyes to sleep. “I...What did you do to him?!?” “Uh...Nothing?” He replied unsure, raising one brow as he curiously stared at me. “Then why is he acting so...friendly with you?” “I don’t know...Guess he likes me?” He casually answered with a shrug as he curiously gazed at me, my heart already starting to pump harder as he eventually dared lower his gaze and trail it all over me, making me inwardly curse myself for choosing to only wear a large t-shirt this morning.

he chuckled and I really wanted to punch him in the face if not for Lottie being here in front of us. “Alright then, I’ll leave you to your dinner. Thank you for your number. I’ll contact you soon.” And he left with another wink for Lottie. “Lottie, you might not know this, but Logan is a playboy. He’s famous for switching girlfriends like he is changing his clothes,” I couldn't help but tell her about Logan’s bad reputation. Yeah, I knew I was acting like a jerk by badmouthing my competition, but what could a man do in such a situation?

“I forgive you. But there is no going back for us. May the Moon Goddess guide you to a new path.” Logan swayed on his feet, a single tear tracing a path down his cheek. He gave a final, solemn nod, then left the ballroom, his shoulders slumped in defeat.

The light at the bar was dim, but not too dim that I couldn’t see all of Gavin’s expressions. The way his mouth moved, the way his eye brows creased, I could see all so clearly. Gavin's voice was low and pleading. "What can I do to make it up to you Logan?" He said softly but firmly.
