she asked, her eyes wide with panic.
“Yeah, so get your cute peach out of bed, now!” I ordered.
She threw on the shirt, and then fished around to find her panties, and yanked them over her hips.
The smoke crept in through the bottom of the bedroom door, filling the place with a thick, black fog. Our only means of escape was through the window, but that involved a long drop onto the street below. For me, it was fine. I was more concerned about my pocket-sized mate. She was only a half-breed. And until she shifted, she wasn't as robust as the rest of us.
