I froze for a split second. Then stood, gripping the edges of the table. My legs still trembled, but my voice didn’t. “Good afternoon, honorable judges, fellow debaters, and audience members. He hissed but I didn’t mind him and continued studying because there was this small mock-up debate before the class ended. “You changed so much, Eli, you never lied to me,” I muttered before standing up to bring back the book to our teacher. The mock-up debate finally started. I am standing in the middle of the room with him on the right side, his arms crossed against his chest. “Why would you reject your mate? They are the soulmates chosen to you by the moon goddess and they will complete you. Rejecting should not exist in the first place.” The other side stated, I almost groaned.
