Diego stepped forward again, closing the distance between them. “That didn’t look like positioning,” he said. “That looked like exploitation.”
Matteo’s expression tightened slightly, though he still didn’t look shaken.
“It’s a publishing tactic,” he insisted. “We build anticipation, we create conversation, we make sure that when the book officially drops, it dominates the space. That’s how this works.”
Diego’s hand curled into a fist again. “Don’t say ‘we’ like she agreed to any of that,” he snapped.
