Novel & Cerita Mandrake Scream

With a jerk, her head tipped back and her neck muscles distended as a piercing scream shrieked through the wind. Xander's body jerked.

“I’m just saying, if I do become immortal, I'll never work a night shift again. Ever. I will haunt the rich exclusively.” I snorted. “You already do that.” She grinned. “Practice makes perfect.” Then it happened. A scream tore through the night. Not a drunk’s yell. Not laughter. Not a lover’s argument spilling into the street. This was pain—pure, ripping, animal. Mae froze. So did I. Another scream followed. Closer. Then another, layered over it, deeper and broken short like someone choking on their own blood. My stomach dropped. “That’s not—” Mae started.

Mandel shrieked, his eyes blazing crimson, bloodshot vessels stark against the whites. The sound that ripped from him was both piercing and utterly unhinged. "Why won't you believe me?! WHY?!"

Unless they deliberately refrained from letting themselves known. A sudden screech ignites from the other side, jittering me wholly as its loud volume permeates the night, rupturing my ears. I scream and buck forward, slamming my hands against my ears as the diabolic scream only amplifies dreadfully. 'Dani! We have to get away! That creature should be a Banshee! Hurry!'

Landon From whimpering, Mandy suddenly erupts into full words, making me flinch in surprise. "No! Please, don't! No, let me go! Let me go!" Her scream pierces my ears. The sound is shattered and broken and desperate, making my chest tighten.

I was getting angry, between the desperate need to drink more blood and knowing what I was becoming, I loose it and scream. It was ear splitting, a high pitched sound that begins to crack the glass of the window and I watch as the vampires clamp theirs hands over their ears, blood trickling between their fingers and leaking out the corners of their mouths as they cough, some drop to the floor as I continue to scream, piercing their eardrums. He remained motionless, his cold gaze fixed on her. Mandy felt a chill run down her spine. She trembled, and her stomach twisted in knots. She shouted with a trembling voice, "W-What do you want? I'm warning you! If I suffer even a scratch, I won't let you or this company off the hook! Don't think you can get away with this!" Frederick smirked. "Oh, absolutely. You're absolutely right! But you know what? I just happen to enjoy a little chaos from time to time!"

Slowly, he lifted my hand and pressed it gently over my eyes. “It’s best if you don’t watch.” I heard the door open, heard his feet hit the asphalt. And then a scream. Followed by a louder one—ragged, jagged. I squeezed my eyes shut, muttering beneath my breath, “It’s best not to watch.” Another scream tore through the night. But this one was different. It was higher. More desperate. A screech that didn’t sound like it came from a human’s throat. My fingers parted allowing one of my eyes to peer through the narrow slit.

SMASH! "Damn it! Damn it! Damn it!" Victoria screamed, her voice echoing off the stone walls. She kicked a heavy leather chair, sending it sliding across the floor until it slammed into the railing. She was shaking from head to toe, her silver-gray eyes flashing with a terrifying, wild light.
